His star QB( Russell Wilson ) is Undermining his basketball team. tsk tsk what is an owner to do? I say trade him. Love the Seahawks but I also want Trailblazer dominance in the Northwest. Call me greedy. Thoughts?
Disagree strongly. The I-5 Rivalry was amazing and it is missed by many. I can only dream of another team in Seattle for us to battle with. I have an opinion you are in the minority with this one rook.
Did anyone else notice during the most recent game against the Nuggets that Calabro stopped himself from saying "Seattle" when talking about the song by Nirvana during one of HCPs highlight reels? Something along the lines of "that music right there is all...up North". He kind of awkwardly said "up north" twice. I seriously wonder if he's been told to not talk about Seattle for fear of people reading too much into things.
Fuck Seattle! With that out of the way, they do desearve a team and the I-5 rivarly would be nice to have back.
I can understand that, I figure cornering the fanbase the better for the team brand and strength. Also an expansion team is watering down the quality of the product. Now a hockey team would be great.
They should get the team back from OKC once Westbrook leaves and their "fans" stop going to games because they're one of the worst in the league. No need for expansion. But on hockey - yeah, I'd love to see both Portland and Seattle get NHL teams. Paul has made two purchase attempts to bring the NHL to Portland - the Penguins and the Coyotes. Unfortunately it seems he was used as a bargaining tool. But at least he has shown interest in bringing NHL to Portland.
I want to see our minor league in Seattle....the Seattle Stampede...or see the Clippers move there and stop being part time Lakers....the Seattle Clippers has a nice ring to it
Crazy how these other teams are using Seattle as a bargaining chip to get new arenas. First Sac and then Milwaukee.
Paul Allen was one of only a handful of owners that voted against the move of the Sonics. I do not think he is losing sleep over this.
I hope we can somehow get an NHL team before this stadium gets built or they'll just get one and we'll be stuck with their team being the "local" one like the Seacucks.
If Allen doesn't care or actually wants Seattle to have an NBA team then it wouldn't be? Russle Wilson is part of the Seattle Arena investment group trying to bring in an NBA team. Maybe I'm missing the bigger picture, so if Paul Allen is ok with it then that's all that matters.
