I guess that's what surprised me - that so many people were willing to overlook things that political pundits ACROSS THE BOARD would have said would torpedo a candidate. Remember Romney's "Binders full of women"? And his "47% are takers"? Seems ridiculously quaint now.

And clearly a lot of hateful people thought that he was speaking for him. I work at a university and we've already seen racist graffiti like you haven't seen in years. Of course, exactly the same thing happened in England after Brexit - is still happening. It's as if people have been thinking that they've had to bite their tongue but now it's THEIR time. Do regular Trump voters feel this, or are they looking at the "Jew-S-A" types and saying "hey, I'm not with THAT guy"?

People who lost money on Trump University assuming it was a "real" education are fucking idiots. As for if the President should be a businessman, don't see the harm. Private citizens should be able to ascend to the Presidency. Trump isn't my ideal candidate, but what the hell, give it a spin on the wheel and see what happens. I kind of agree with many of his points so why not.

The main draw for me is that he isn't hillary, who I just see as totally fucking incompetent.

(Off topic) You wanted Bernie, but you didn't vote for the candidate he went on to campaign for. Do you feel betrayed by him that he campaigned for Clinton? Do you think he was disingenuous in his support? He didn't have to, after all - I think he's already left the Democratic party again.

That's just it, regarding his words. People overlooked his words because most of us have said worse, and have friends/family/colleagues that have said worse, and knew that deep-down, they didn't mean it, or at least don't live their lives representative of those words. Makes it easier for some to overlook Trump's words. I'm sure you've said things that would offend most on this board. I know I have, but they don't represent who I really am.

Can't say for certain how Trump voters feel. I only know a few, and they voted for him, one, because they feel like Clinton is corrupt and a liar. And two, because they're pissed at how the DNC screwed over Bernie. (Ironically, I've seen several people say that voting Trump over Hillary wasn't the answer, yet are supporting the protests and the First Amendment. To me, maybe the consequences will suck, but that is a much more meaningful protest or statement than walking around blocking traffic).

So you think that Trump University was kind of a con game? Does this make you admire Trump as a clever businessman, ready to exploit suckers (so it's a plus) or as a slightly worrying character feature that you're ready to overlook (negative, but not enough to lose your vote)?

    Okay, so it's not a positive? You wouldn't say "I won't vote for X because s/he wasn't a businessman" it's just "meh"?

    Who would you have preferred?

Incompetent at what? Is this about the emails?

Good question...I think he blew it by not accepting Jill Stein's offer to give him the green party platform after the Clinton scandal broke and she took the Democratic option off the table for him.

The best way for make Sanders' to make his voice heard would be through Hillary. I think he knows he was fucked over. But he supported her for the greater good. For that, I believe he was as genuine as he could be given the circumstances, but I don't believe his heart was fully in it (mine wouldn't have been). I think he knows that the DNC shot itself in the foot and he did what he had to to assist the DNC, which would have likely meant some sort of important opportunity and role for him. That would have been better than whatever likely awaits him now.

Sanders was a democratic candidate, but his platform was very different from Hillary's, ultimately. Just because I would have voted Sanders doesn't mean that Hillary gets my vote.

To be quite honest the best part and only part i like about trump winning is my dick is dry, and liberal tears are great lube. he'll probably completely fuck this country. but some people just want to watch the world burn. that's me.

I imagine he didn't because he genuinely didn't want Trump to win - don't you? That would have obviously split the anti-Trump vote. (Of course Stein ended up doing that anyway - probably.)

yes, and that's what he said....he never returned her call....what I think is interesting is the possibility of a new party base with four years to prepare for the next chapter in DC

I see Trump University in the same light as Tony Robbins Courses or Rich Dad, Poor Dad or Evangelical Ministers like Joel Osteen. Just a bunch of people looking for easy answers by throwing money at a problem. I mean they tell you how to flip properties, probably. People assume by paying for that shit they will qualify or have the money to do so.

I don't know who I would have preferred. Probably someone at least intelligent. I think Trump will end up like how Berlusconi did in Italy.

I think Hillary is a warmonger. She fucked up in Benghazi. She fucked up with Isis. I just think she would have fucked up with Syria too. She's in Wall Street's pocket too.

There is no point in dialogue because the leftish do not have tolerance for any viewpoint other than their own, that is proven time and time again and is self evident from the riots, twitter, etc.

Just accept the defeat and lets judge the President when he takes office and starts doing stuff.

Well, if you get someone too intelligent, they'll leverage the power in very bad ways. So its good to get someone kind of full of themselves.
