Posse is now a no no?

Back in the day when I had a development group we had to deal with other groups in an adversarial relationship, such as System Assurance. It was common for developers to warn others when the Assurance Posse was coming to check on whatever.

Now it seems Posse is racist? Wtf is happening to this world??

The term “posse” never entered my mind as being racist.

I have never used the term “posse” because it always sounded gay to me, which would make it sexist, not racist.

 

Hell, for most of my time, there was nothing wrong with that sound. Seems like the language is being hijacked.
