How good will this guy get? Will he end up being Wally Szcerbiak-good? Chris Mullin-good? Or Jason Kapono-good?I don't see him getting a ton better. He will end up being a 10-12 ppg bench player during his prime, in my opinion. He's not a good defender, he really can't do much besides shoot and pass.

If he gets the playing time he can help out on the scoring side for the Magic. I'll see him as a Jason Kapono good as a spot up shooter. He'll be outside in the 3point arc and once he's open he can be deadly. But at most I would say 10-15PPG. He's not much of a defender though. But can certainly help during some crucial games to take off the load from Dwight and Jameer

He won't really amount to much in my opinion. Probably 10-15 ppg at his highest. He is deadly on open 3's but he can't really defend much. I doubt he will ever be a starter. Prolly just a pretty good bench player throughout his career.

I don't think J.J. Redick will ever live up to his college days and at best he will average 15 ppg in the NBA but in all reality it will probabaly be about 11 or 12. He can really shoot the ball but he is slow, unathletic, and he can't play good defense either. Jason Kopono was a real letdown until this year when he got the playing time and he produced. I can see Redick coming off the bench for the first few years and then turn into a Jason Kopono or Matt Carroll kind of guy.

Redick isn't slow, he isn't unathletic, he's a nice athlete, just because he doesn't have Darius Miles' arms or dunk like Desmond Mason...doesn't mean he's unathletic...your just stereotyping him...ugh...he's more quick than fast, for a 6'5" 195 pound guy he has solid speed. I would say he has adequate speed and athletic ability. He was a great defender at Duke towards the end of his career, worked very hard on his defense...How will it translate? I don't know...Considering what you said above you never watched Redick at Duke, all your doing is repeating ridiculous white stereotypes. I'm sick and tired of everyone comparing him to every slow/white/shooter in the league. Come on.

Ok he has a good body for his size but he is not that quick at all. I actually watched J.J. Redick play a lot during his Duke days and when he was a senior he developed his slashing game more but it will not work as good in the NBA. J.J. Redick is going to have to work really hard to become quicker and more athletic in the NBA.

He has really quick feet and he's active, he's not going to burn you down the court. He's going to live off shooting and ball fakes (what he does really well) and smart play. I'm not saying he's going to be a 20ppg guy but he will be solid like Jeff Hornacek was (16ppg, lightsout shooter), they are freakishly similar players. A lot of guys aren't as athletic or fast, but Redick is driven and will overcome his weakness with smarts as he gets more experience. This year has obviously been a dissapointment but with a summer of work your going to see him in the rotation next season.

Redick will probabaly work really hard this off-season to develop his game and I see him being the 6th man or possibly the next one off the bench next year.

Just my opinion but I don't think J.J. will do anything in the NBA. I hate to bring up the past but he reminds me a lot of Trajan Langdon. Both in college and in the NBA. Trajan was a hot shot shooting guard who was an absolute sniper from 3 point land, just like J.J., and he winded up in Europe. Langdon is having a great career over there by the way. I just don't think J.J. has the ability to be a good NBA player. He doesn't have the greatest size and his defense is suspect. BCB by the way, where are you getting 6'5''? He's 6'4'' at best. He reminds me of a poor man's Delonte West. He's undersized at the shooting guard, doesn't have point guard capabilities, and he will struggle to find a position in the NBA.

Struggle to find a position? He's a SG and has always been a SG. He never played PG Duke, obviously has no PG skills, NBA GM's know he's a SG and will always be a SG. JJ Redick measured a legit 6'5" at the NBA predraft camps. He's 6'5" 195 pounds. Size really isn't that big of an issue. I got a chance to see Redick against Milwaukee a few weeks ago, hit a couple three's and looked alright. He's been having injury issues but he's cleary a much better player than Trajan Langdon, thats a pretty lousy comparison. JJ Redick actually has a work ethic, something Langdon never had. Last month Redick scored in double digits 5 times in a row and had a good streak. If Jeff Hornacek can play in the NBA for 10 years and put up 15ppg so can JJ Redick, I don't know why so many people have a hard time understanding that...And if I here one more person bi*ch about his defense I'm going to explode...obviously a lot of you have not watched him play.

I'm still not buying that he's going to be a good SG in this league. He is definately undersized and what predraft camps was he measured at 6'5''? I'm not saying that as a backlash comment either, I am just curious. I have never seen him listed anywhere near 6'5''. Anyway, 6' 5'' is still a little undersized at the SG position and also when this guy isn't hitting 3's what good is he? And how is comparing him to Trajan Langdon a lousy comparison? They both were amazing 3 point shooters at Duke, They're both 6' 4'', and if you look at their stats BCB they are eerily similar for both of their rookie seasons.

Like I've said for the 76th time, JJ Redick measured 6'5" in the NBA pre-draft. Most websites just go off what he was listed at in college. Ray Allen and Cuttino Mobley were 6'5" and 6'4" and have turned out all right and play SG... Comparable rookie seasons? Redick's been fighting injuries all season. Trajan Langdon had no work ethic, thats why he's out of the league and playing in communist countries. Redick might score most of his points shooting but in college he got his points moving without the ball like a Richard Hamilton, he just doesn't sit behind the line, he's always moving around, using screens...etc... I've never said JJ Redick is going to put up 20ppg and be a great player, but he's going to be a 15ppg guy who can really help a team, he doesn't lack a position, he isn't that undersized, he hustles, plays defense, can shoot the ball from anywhere, uses fake moves...he realizes he's faults and works around it to be a better player.

We'll see man but JJ Reddick doesn't belong in the same sentence as Ray Allen or Richard Hamilton. Both of those guys are flat out stunning athletes who do make most of their game off of quickness and like you said earlier Reddick won't make his game off of quickness and athleticism. I can see where you say he'll play like a Cuttino Mobley and he might be able to score 15 points a game. But don't say sh*t like Ray Allen had a great career at 6'5'' because you sound like you're implying just because Allen had a great career at 6'5'' that Reddick will too. They are totally different players. Ray Allen is a freak athlete who used to be able to dunk on anyone (something Reddick will never dO) and made his game with great outside shooting and quickness. And Reddick might be able to get open and move without the ball but Richard Hamilton is an insane athlete, he is as quick as they come, Reddick will never be a Richard Hamilton.

I'm just saying that they are 6'5", similar size and have no problems playing SG. Neither Richard Hamilton or Ray Allen are insane athletes at the NBA level, but obviously they are good athletes. It's spelled Redick, not Reddick.

Well I'm just saying you're bringing up guys like Ray Allen and Richard Hamilton when discussing J.J. Redick and earlier on you said quickness and athleticism aren't part of his game. Well they're huge parts of Allen's and Hamilton's. Maybe I overstated by saying they're insane athletes, but they are certainly very quick and could run laps around J.J.

When you think of moving without the ball, you think of Richard Hamilton...I was just saying that like Hamilton, Redick moves well without the ball, thats a big part of Redick's game...I never said Redick's game or talent was compariable with Allen/Hamilton.

We'll have to wait and see BCB. I'm not convinced JJ will do anything remarkable and I'll be surprised if he can be a 15 ppg guy in the NBA.

Well, he had a stretch of 5 games where he got 20+ minutes (between injuries) and he scored in double figures in all of them....he can obviously put up points. If Jeff Hornacek can do it, JJ Redick will his great work ethic can do it.

Did you ever watch Jeff Hornacek BCB? Jeff Hornaceck wasn't just a scorer, he could distribute the ball like a point guard and was a great rebounder for his size, not to mention a great defnder. The guy averaged 5+ assists for his entire career basically. There's no way in hell JJ will do that. He's just an outside scorer. So far the names you have brought up when talking about JJ RedickRay AllenRichard HamiltonJeff HornacekCuttino MobleyWho's next?

And I watched Jeff Hornacek a lot when I was a kid, Redick might not be the passer Jeff was but they have similar size/scoring ability...Hornacek like Redick moved well without the ball and was quick/hard working defender....I definitely see a good comparison there.
