I'd do that deal just to get out from the montrocity that is Crabbe's contract.

if Williams is willing to be a backup pg I'm somewhat ok with that. he would be great in that roll long as he was willing to accept it. but then again, we still have bazz and we aren't using him like that at all even though we should...

Here is something from a Lowe and Stein podcast: "The problem is, (Mo) Harkless is playing his *** off, and (Al-Farouq) Aminu is really good, and they have under market deals, and they are the two best trade chips, they're also really valuable to the Blazers. Evan Turner and Allen Crabbe have mega contracts, and they aren't playing up to them, frankly there aren't even enough minutes for them to play up to them and they are going to be tough to trade, so when do you start thinking about trading CJ McCollum? I think that's the move that gets them lot of stuff in return. He and Dame are very similar, and are deadly together, but they just aren't going to be a good enough defensive team with those two together."

What hit me is their statement that there aren't enough minutes for Turner and Crabbe to live up to their contracts. (Not to mention these guys just don't seem to mesh.) I understand that Turner is looking a lot better lately, but that's the thing that might make him tradeable. I don't think there is any way we could trade Crabbe, so one alternative is trade Turner and hope like hell that this would help Crabbe come out of his funk and become a player worth his contract; you would have to have the faith that he can do even more than last year.

One trade I have been thinking about is with Minnesota. Turner and Davis to them; Dieng and Pekovic contract to us. (Note, before BNM gets in here, I better note that Crabbe has been getting 28 minutes a game this season and Turner 24.6, so it seems there is almost enough minutes for both of them). I think it's possible that they can play together; Turner has adjusted and got on track; Crabbe could do the same.)

I'm all for Dieng. Been a fan since his college days.

I actually wonder if we could get Noel for less than we think. Philly doesn't really have leverage and Noel has made it pretty obvious he wants out. Could we maybe get him for a first rounder and ezeli's expiring contract?

We should also look into Nurkic. I would actually prefer him over any other big man not named Cousins. Don't know what Denver would want, but after the Barton deal, I could see them being open to doing business with Portland again. Maybe someone like Vonleh, who probably just needs consistent minutes to develop, kind of like Barton.

Please let it be Crabbe for Noel. Please, please, please!

I know that can't happen until mid-January, but PHI is far enough under the cap that a Noel for Crabbe deal works without adding any other players. Noel is an elite rim protector and great defensive player. He'd be a HUGE upgrade for us defensively.

It's funny that prior to the draft PHI was aggressively shopping Oakfor and couldn't get anyone to pay their asking price, but now with the emergence of Joel Embiid, they have flip flopped and now consider Noel expendable. Okafor has a sweet old school low post game, but I think Noel addresses our biggest weakness much more than adding another scorer who doesn't play defense.

I cant find it now, but the thing I saw was saying crabbe is indeed the rumor, but it was due to the fact that they showed interest in him as a FA...

Now, we just need Crabbe to find his shot and start contributing before Jan 14. Come on Allen, you can do it. Getting traded to PHI (or BRK, which can't happen until next July) is your best chance to become a starter in the NBA. Focus Allen, you can do it!!!!

I'm not opposed to trading for him (tho I suspect it would cost more than I'd be happy with).

I like Crabbe, would rather trade Turner than him, BUT something has to give. I don't know what his health is, I don't think his injury that he had was supposed to have a long term impact on him (the one he had in college, not recently).

Bring on the fast break that sounds like this: Festivus to Noel to Noah to Al Farouq!
