Unlike the potential conflict of interest and other legal issues that relate to him continuing to have any interest in the Post Office building in DC, there's absolutely no legal requirement for him to release his tax returns. Pisses people off, and maybe some (like me) didn't vote for him because of that and multiple other reasons, but he's within his legal rights to tell the media to stuff it regarding his tax returns.

Oh, I get it. The rules apply in the FUTURE. So members of the Trump team are forbidden from lobbying AFTER they leave. But of course, that's meaningless, because you can't actually stop them and nobody will remember these rules. So what you mean is the rules don't mean anything. Which, of course, we knew anyway.
