With all his "issues" I wouldn't trade CJ for Cousins but I would put a package of a up to two first round picks (1 the Cavs) and Crabbe for him.

That's your feeling, sure. You could be right.
But, I totally disagree. Cousins has led every "winning organization" he's been on. OK, I'm guessing that his HS team was pretty good. His college team was absolutely elite.

Please don't use the phrase "Sacramento Kings."
And "Winning Organization" in the same sentence. (see what I did there :) )

I've detailed the craptitude that is the Kings management/owner combination. When he's traded to a playoff team that immediately becomes a nonplayoff team, I'll happily agree with you. Until then, probably not.

When it comes to Cousins it would need to be addition by addition...having an elite starting lineup which would require CJ and Dame playing with Boogie...there are players I'd trade CJ for but Boogie isn't that guy...Paul George is...the Greek Freak is...Unibrow is...Whiteside is..Drummond definitely is. Cousins just has baggage that might mess with the chemistry too much...it's a crapshoot with him...CJ is the voice of reason and would be a good mentor for Boogie

Rumor mill says Blazers are willing to move Meyers, Plums and Harkless for an elite scoring big...posted a link earlier but some folks said the link gave them a problem

    what's the web site?

Makes some sense, but those aren't our high salary guys and we're up against the luxury tax.

    $22M, no?

    Meyers $10M, Mo $10M, Plums $2M. +/- a million or two.

Exactly my point. We have a VERY small amount of $$ to sign 2 additional players to.

Elite, scoring, bigs (PF & C):

Davis, Cousins, Towns, Love, Griffin, Porzingis, Marc Gasol, Brook Lopez, Jabari Parker. (That's the limit of bigs in the top 40 of scoring). Out of those, I'd say that the Blazers could put together an offer that wouldn't get laughed at for Cousins, Lopez and maybe Gasol. Anybody else?

True, but you said those weren't our high salary guys.

True, we can't take much more than the ~$22M back, but a 3-for-1 leaves us with no roster spot to fill. Vet minimum, I presume, if we want 13+ players.

As the season goes on, pro-ration of vet minimum contracts would give us room to add a 14th and 15th player.

If we send out $22M and take back $21M, we are fine.

We don't need a scoring big. I'm definitely not sacrificing Harkless to get one unless it's cousins but they would want CJ, and I wouldn't give both Harkless and CJ to get cousins. We need a rim protector.

Toward the end of the game, Stotts had Dame take a 30ft shot, he missed.

That situation is the kind you want an easier attempt.

    IMO

It's easier to take away big men late in games. You'd ideally want a guy who can beat someone off the dribble in that situation. But I get your point. I just don't think it's the Blazers biggest need.

I would love to be wrong and we somehow landed him. He's got exceptional talent. If he isn't a distraction and actually can lead, he would be a perfect fit with Dame IMO

Elite? Kind of on the bottom end of consideration for that. Not sure I'd include Harkless in a package for any of those guys.

Mags, I agree he would be a great fit with Dame.

OT: It's good to see you back in the forums. Just wanted to mention that your sig is messed up - it should read

I think they're hurt or play not enough minutes to qualify for top 40 in scoring.

Monroe filled out the stat sheet pretty nicely last season. His defense is so terrible the team doesn't want to play him anymore. But he seems like a reasonable candidate that's getable. If all you want is a scoring big.

Okafor is a stud. I would love to see us get him. Wherever he ends up, they're going to be in good shape for years. 17.5PPG (last year) seems "elite" to me.
