I think it's a school conspiracy....they'll call a snow day in Oregon with a half inch of dusting on the road...!
I remember school buses with chains in 2 feet of snow in oregon. you want to see pathetic look down south. one guy made the front page 2 years ago cause he slid off the road and had to walk in the frigid cold for help. the picture had his foot prints in a dusting that didnt cover the soul of his shoes. and it was probably 33 degrees.
I grew up in real snow country...snow plows out clearing bus routes all night...what they call snow days in Lane County is pretty sad these days

Pretty much every district close LAST night. By 7pm. PPS finally called at like 830pm. They didn't cancel school for my kids until like 8am today (after announcing a 2-hour delay this AM).
Yep. While we were still at church, my kids were getting texts from their friends about the closure in Parkrose. Sad society we live in that is controlled by fear. Frustrating.
Hence why I moved away from PDX Metro. We do have a decent amount now (with more on the way), but they waited forever to cancel. It's all good - I work from home when I want, so easy for me to stay and work from home today. And the taco joint a few blocks away is open, so the kids and I will be feasting in a couple hours!
It's coming down pretty well here in Stayton. Got off work only to see a nice dusting but it's sticking.
