CJ as part of a trade for Cousins?

  2. Fuck yeah!

  3. There is no way that such a trade would be possible without trading half the roster

On that note, Monroe has been averaging 18 min this season, played 22 tonight....

This is a basketball forum, I shouldn't have to explain what is obvious. People need to stop being enamored with stats and see DMC is the reason why the Kings are a losing franchise.
CP3 isn't going to be gifted to the Kings, like he was to the Clippers. DMC won't be saved like Griffin was.

You linked a video that furthers my point.... I can't believe I have to explain this... It's like talking to politics to a die-hard blue, or red...........

He was in the paint and sent the game to OT because he got his big ass in the paint...
However what happened at 7:30... When he's on the perimeter.. Oh that's coaching right...
Okay, so when Nards stripped the ball... He turned and complained to the ref, instead of at least attempt to get the ball... Refs missed the call, DMC prolly wouldn't have got to it... But at least try. How many times did Shaq dive after balls? But coaching.. K...
Then the very next possession in the video.. He shows at 8:03 on Lillard... Which is good no denying it.
However play the video from the time Nards gets the ball, to the time the ref blows the whistle. Don't watch the ball, watch DMC stand there.. Doing exactly what every fan in the arena paid to do. Watch.
He doesn't attempt to help like Crabbe does on the very next possession...
He stands there at the three point line never getting his big ass in the paint.
Best rebounder on the court and he's not going for the board.... Wait that's coaching right?.... K...

Can't fault DMC for the play the Kings ran to get Gay a shot. It was a good shot, DMC was in rebounding position.. Most likely he gets it if Crabbe doesn't come in to help. I give him credit. Just like I gave him credit when he got his ass in the paint and sent it to OT.

Now... Should I talk about DMC settling for a fadeaway three over a 7 footer with 12 seconds left on the clock down by two? Floor spread?...
Hey DMC, ATTACK THE RIM AND GET YOUR BIG ASS IN THE PAINT... Just like you did to send the game to OT, do it again....
But no... You take a contested jab step fadeaway three pointer with a 7 footer in your face, with 12s left on the clock. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS THAT DMC?
Or how about the next possession when he once again fades out to the three point line and calls for the ball... Instead of get his big ass IN THE PAINT. To get open or at least a chance to tip it in. It's not like he tied it up by getting his ass in the paint or anything.
DMC is the reason why the Kings have a chance in a lot of games, but he is also the reason why the Kings lose a lot of games.
Anyone who believes otherwise doesn't watch the Kings consistently enough to see what he does to hurt the team. Or they just don't pay attention...

If somebody could watch that video, and ignore the last two minutes of the game where DMC stopped doing what he was doing all game.... Fuck it lol.

I'd say no. If we're going to trade CJ, we need something more reliable in return.

But Portland is a defensive mess, and CJ is part of that (as is not really having an interior presense). CJ for Whiteside would be huge.

ACTUALLY HE TRYS TO DRAW THE FOUL, THEN TURNS AND TAKES A QUICK TWO STEPS, SEES THAT DAME AND COLLISON ARE DIVING FOR IT AND SLOWS UP TO BE THE OPEN MAN IF HIS TEAM GETS IT. ONCE THE BALL IS LOOSE HE IS SUDDENLY RIGHT THERE TRYING TO SAVE IT FROM CJ AND HARK

Then the very next possession in the video.. He shows at 8:03 on Lillard... Which is good no denying it.

BY THE TIME HE TURNS AROUND NARDS IS IN THE AIR SHOOTING, SURE HE COULD HAVE RAN IN INCASE IT MISSED SO I'LL GIVE YOU THAT, BUT THE HOLE POINT OF THAT DEFENSIVE PLAY (I WOULD ASSUME) WAS TO KEEP THE BALL OUT OF DAMES HANDS, IF HE LEAVES DAME, NARDS PASSES, OR GETS THE REBOUND AND THEN THE BALL MOVES BACK OUT TO THE PERIMITER HE WOULD BE OUT OF POSITION TO KEEP THE BALL AWAY FROM DAME

HE MAKES THAT SHOT AND THEY TAKE THE LEAD, THE WAY HE FALLS, AND NARDS NEARLY FALLS SAYS TO ME THAT NARDS CLOSED OUT ON THE SHOT AND CAUSED AN OFF BALANCE SHOT FOR DMC. MAYBE HE WAS LOOKING FOR THE FOUL, BUT CLEARLY THEY WANTED TO TAKE THE LEAD.

Or how about the next possession when he once again fades out to the three point line and calls for the ball... Instead of get his big ass IN THE PAINT. To get open or at least a chance to tip it in. It's not like he tied it up by getting his ass in the paint or anything.
AGAIN, THAT LOOKS LIKE DESIGNED PLAY TO TAKE THE LEAD, IT JUST SORT OF DESOLVED. HE SETS A SCREEN AND THEN MOVES OUT TO SPREAD THE FLOOR FOR AN ISO PLAY, WHICH IS INDEED SOMETHING THE BLAZERS ARE BAD AT DEFENDING. HE STAYS AT THE 3 POINT LINE FOR A KICK OUT ON A DRIVE BECUASE HE CAN INFACT SHOOT THE 3. HE EVEN CALLS FOR THE BALL BECAUSE NARDS WAS SAGING OFF HIM ALL THE WAY INTO THE PAINT.

I do hope that the mockery came across in my post. I figured the use of "retarded" would do it, but this is the internet where tone and intent are so often lost.

That's why I tried to do you a favor by quoting the original mock-worthy post.

If this were the only mark against DMC - and if he had half the accomplishments of Draymond/Tony - you might have a point.

A nice article on the Pros/Cons of acquiring Boogie. To me, the offensive/defensive rankings plus the charitable work outweigh the downsides. Also, getting him out of the dysfunction factory that is Sacramento can only be a net positive. I trust Dame as a leader versus him being exposed to the @$$clown that is Matt Barnes.

Nate, I ALMOST agree. Here's my version:
From a talent perspective, you're right. But, the only reason the Kings would consider trading Cousins isn't related to his talent. There is an additional risk. From what I've read, most GMs would not trade CJ for Cousins. Like some of the readers on this board, some GMs wouldn't trade for him at all. But, this team needs a talent upgrade.

I like to compare Cousins to Anthony Davis. Davis will never be traded. Cousins wouldn't be either if he was the boy scout Davis is.

Maybe the brawl means we can get Boogie without giving up CJ.

Anyway, I don't believe for a second that an NBA player just walked up to a random woman and started choking her in front of a bunch of people at a crowded night club. There has got to be more to this story.

I don't think it really matters that there's more to the story. Of course it wasn't unprovoked - but regardless of any provocation, that still doesn't give Barnes/Cousins the right to choke/punch people.

You make it sound like you are asking if any one of those singularly would net us Boogie.

Hell No! I am a fan of Boogie when he's paying attention, but that doesn't happen for 36 minutes per night.

CJ is a stud. He's a gifted shooter AND a outstanding person! Can't replace the combination. Boogie isn't THAT much better.
Hold out until he's on the "SALE" rack!!

No right to defend themselves? I know you aren't saying that, but hell if I 'm gonna go out of my way to be the better person while I'm getting choked and punched.
