Ya I don't think he's what we necessarily need offensively. But having a post player to go at GS' biggest weakness is not really a bad thing.

I don't mind Nurkic' usage numbers. He gets easy buckets and is very good at getting them. He's really improved his offensive game this year. He gets to the rim against pretty much anybody. You have to see what kind of value that would add to our team. He also isn't a selfish player. He's shown enough passing ability/court IQ for me to think that part of his game would take a leap under Stotts.

Noel would be great too, but he comes with more risk and is about to get paid. Then again that's why he could come cheaper compensation wise

Asik has a horrible contract and was benched by the Pelicans for Alexis Ajinca. Let that sink in for a moment.

And the days of him being "rim-protecting" are far from reality.

I watched him play the other night and I thought the film was in slow motion but it was just him...looks like a guy who doesn't like his job to me

Asik has pretty good DRPM numbers.
(Better than Chandler, Drummond, Adams, Bebe, Whiteside, Noah, Nurkic...)
Kinda surprised at Vucevic's high ranking there, and Marc Gasol (former DPOY)'s low ranking.

(As I suggested in another thread: the obvious Asik trade is a swap for Pekovic. Pek has 2 fewer years on his deal, and Thibs loved Asik in Chicago.)

So, you'd prefer another LaRue Martin, Sam Bowie or Greg Oden?

Then why even bring it up? The subject of race is completely irrelevant in this discussion. We don't need a black center, or a white center, we need a rim protector who can rebound and hopefully defend the pick and roll. Hell, right now I'd gladly take an in-his-prime Joel Przybilla over any big man we currently have on this roster. Not because he's white, but because, in his prime, he was a great shot blocker and rebounder. And those are two things this team sorely lacks.

I picked other because if I was the GM, none of the players on your pole would be my first target. Simply because I believe other players complement Lillard better.

Before the season ended I'd trade for Noel or Okafor. Once Portland contracts come trade-able on this roster I'd offer Crabbe/Aminu or Harkless/Plumlee.
I don't think it'll take much for Philly to part ways with one of their bigs not named Embiid. Especially if they're getting Aminu who can slide in and play next to Embiid.
At the end of the season I'd offer the Wizards CJ for Wall. Even though I believe CJ and Lillard do indeed complement each other. I believe Wall fits far better with Lillard than CJ does. It's just not working in Washington and I believe they'll be rebuilding sooner than later. Wall is under contract until the end of 2019, CJ just signed an extension. So both teams will be switching players who can remain with the teams for a few years.

I'd be less inclined to give up a shooter like CJ, for a non shooter like Wall...(even though Wall has got better, he's not a shooter) If Portland got Okafor instead of Noel. But I'd still do it.
Simply because Lillard+Wall+Noel would equal the ability to play up-tempo and run teams off the court. With Okafor while you could still run, you'd want to slow it down a little bit more than with Noel to take advantage of Okafor's skill set.

Kudos for thinking outside of the box on this one. I would have never thought of John Wall as a trade target, and my first though was, he's a PG and we already have an all start PG in Dame. But, then I realized, Dame could play off the ball on offense more and Wall could guard the other teams best guard. So, I could see it working.

But, why would WAS do this? C.J. and Bradley Beal would be horribly redundant. Neither is a PG. Beal is basically a lesser version of C.J. that just signed an even bigger extension. You'd have a quarter of a billion dollars committed to two guys that play the same position, with neither well suited to play any other position. I can't see any way this works for WAS. So, they'd have to move Beal for a PG, and with his contract, it would be hard for them to get equal value in return.

The coming draft is STUFFED with PGs. Not saying they'll be John Wall quality, but they might be better. (Lonzo Ball looks like Jason Kidd II.)

Yes they are. Not all of them, but probably at least half of them.
