    get 'er done...

wtf- Trashman is going to have to be shit canned, if he keeps this up. I'd pay Headley to stay home, or send him to Crapuano's bootcamp for washed up players,....

good deal for the southsiders, one I did not see any value in even looking at....

another C.J. Wilson.....? The Pale Hose can have him....! Glad Cashman made no offers; a non-offer is a great offer (for Holland)...

    excerpt from MLB Trade Rummors

It has been a tough and injury-riddled three-year run for Holland, who has managed to provide only 203 innings since the start of 2014. He hasn’t exactly been dominant when healthy, either, posting a 4.30 ERA with 5.9 K/9 against 2.5 BB/9 in that span.

Things began to turn south in the following season (2014), however, as knee and shoulder issues intervened.

In 2016, he sat nearly three full ticks below his peak average velocity (93.4 mph, in 2013), with a 7.8% swinging-strike rate that fell well below the ~10% mark he carried when at his best.

Sounds like Cashman is ready to move Gardner....and Holliday will enable such a move, tho' Matt won't be playing LF daily either....

although, odd how these two stories, (1st one dated Dec. 8th, 2nd Dec. 9th) quickly begin to lose steam in just a day. Is is Gardner on the trade block or not???? More like an open ended question, maybe if the deal is right....???

Now if any is the time imo to trade Gardner, Ellsbury, Headley too (if possible at all), for Pitching, and more pitching....! The O's expect the Yanx to pay part of Gardner's contract, and I don't foresee that being a sensible business option, with attempts to curb over spending, and reduce the overhead payroll. I for one, don't foresee Cashman or Hal letting free dollars walk; which Baltimore expects

    http://www.espn.com/blog/mlb/rumors...oles-eyeing-yankees-of-brett-gardner-in-trade

The Baltimore Orioles might be a possible landing spot for Brett Gardner if the New York Yankees decide to trade their leadoff man this winter, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

However, Heyman writes that the Orioles would prefer their division rival cover some of Gardner's salary in any potential deal.

The 33-year-old outfielder will earn $12 million in 2017 and $11 million in 2018. His contract includes a $12.5 million club option in 2019 with a $2 million buyout attached.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman told reporters at the winter meetings that he "wouldn't be afraid to deal Brett Gardner within the AL East," per MLB.com's Bryan Hoch, who also reported that Baltimore manager Buck Showalter expressed doubts about Cashman's stance.

Gardner slashed .261/.351/.362 with seven home runs, 41 RBIs, 16 stolen bases and 80 runs scored last season.

    http://bronxbaseballdaily.com/2016/12/unless-yankees-trade-brett-gardner-2017-roster-is-set/

The team for the 2017 season is all set…unless the Yankees do one thing over the last two months.

The Yankees have Matt Holliday as their DH / first baseman and Aroldis Chapman as their closer, and if the team doesn’t deal Brett Gardner over the course of the offseason, they’ll figure out the holes they need to fill in February.

While Yankees general manager Brian Cashman opened up the possibility, trading Gardner will not be easy. Cashman said a few days ago that he wasn’t comfortable moving the Yankees outfielder, either because they were going to lose that consistency in left field or an opposing team didn’t make a tempting offer.

The Yankees tried to move Gardner last offseason for a starter and struckout. However, not trading Gardner worked out in the Yankees favor as he was consistent at the top of the order and won a Gold Glove. As of right now, it’s more likely than not Gardner is in pinstripes once February 14 rolls around. I can’t be as sure about the July 31st trade deadline.

Despite the Yankees merely listening on offers regarding Gardner, the team has pulled Chase Headley from the trade market. It doesn’t mean the team isn’t going to try to trade Headley down the road, but for now Headley will be the Yankees third baseman in April
