There is supposedly some talks about Devin Harris for Milk's 6th pick:

The hottest rumor going around right now has them trying to move up to No. 6 in the draft by trading Devin Harris to Milwaukee. This came from Eastern Conference contacts, so take it for what it's worth. The guess here is that the Mavs would try to pry something out of the Bucks beyond No. 6, which would either be Mike Conley or Yi Jianlian, most likely. But the bottom line is they aren't looking to go crazy. When you have a 67-win team, even one that disappointed in the playoffs, it's prudent to think you're still going to be pretty good next season.

    That's what I'm afraid of.

I would love for the Mavs to be progressive in nature, and not becontent with hollow numbers (forget the Finals in '05, Manu shouldn't have fouled him). This teamhas been exposed as being flawed in structure ~ and we need a new offensive style.

Nothing that can't be overhauled beforesummer league.

    * I've heard this morning that a deal has been made that would send Devin Harris and Greg Buckner to Milwaukee for the Bucks' No. 6 overall pick. Wouldn't that be something if the Mavericks get better via a lottery pick and Phoenix does not?

    Rumor Not Valid
Jun 28 - An Eastern Conference insider said he'd heard the Mavericks were entertaining an offer to get the No. 6 pick from Milwaukee for Devin Harris, a deal that might have included other players.

While that proposal might make sense because Harris grew up in Milwaukee and the Bucks need a point guard, it wasn't valid.

Rather, the Mavericks are taking a cautious approach to the draft. They have brought in more than 25 players over the last 10 days, and virtually all are projected to go late in the first round or in the second round. -- Dallas Morning News

    # While the rumor mill has been off the hook league-wide leading to tonight's NBA Draft -- the latest of local interest had Devin Harris headed to Milwaukee for the Bucks' No. 6 pick -- the Mavs appear ready to go into the draft with the same three second-round picks they've had since acquiring the 34th pick in the February deal that sent Anthony Johnson to Atlanta.

"He's going to be part of this franchise for a long, long time," Mavs president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said about Harris last week.

Would we still do it for Yi? When you propose it for the pick, it makes sense, sort of...but for the player you draft at 6...no way. I wouldn't have done that for anyone that went past the 4th pick.

Yi's handlers did everything they could to keep him away from Milwaukee. The Bucks were not permitted to attend any of Yi's workouts and GM Larry Harris did not travel to China to see Yi play in person. According to league sources, Yi's representatives will ask the Bucks to trade Yi on Friday.

Lmao. The Bucks really should not have drafted Yi knowing his people did not want him there. Brewer and Noah could have been in there hands.

The Bucks should have taken Brandan Wright

However, they could have known this all along and then get more value out of him than they could have before.

I wouldn't trade Harris for that Chinese guy Yi or whatever the hell his name is. Harris is a future all star player. Plus Dallas has a lot of big men, I don't think they need more.

Dallas fans still believe in Devin Harris? I was under the impression that he hasn't lived up to his draft position. Guess I was wrong.

He won't live up to his draft day expectations, but he'll be good.
