I don't think Delonte is an apt comparison at all. That dude was a scrub who was rolling with the wrong crowd and never really got out of the ghetto. He was caught speeding with a guitar case full of guns desperado style. Boogie is just a petulant child who has never been shown proper authority in the NBA. He runs things in SAC and they clearly enable him to do it. Needs a change of scenery and a new pecking order in the worst way.
I always thought Demarcus cousins behavior was childish and he is a headcase but at the same time, the media needs to be checked. We live in a society now where too much fake shit gets put out there and people immediately believe it whether it's sports media, etc. Look at what canzano does. I wouldn't mind any player getting in his face. The media needs to be reminded that they don't know these guys lives or shit that has happened. media needs to be checked when wrong. Nobody checks the media anymore, people just believe whatever they see without actually doing research.
Here's the article which made Cousins mad. The writer, the local Canzano, tried hard to provoke Cousins with this sarcastic, very personal attack against rich black people. A week later, the writer showed up after a game, ready to ask sarcastic questions, so Cousins yelled at him. The Republican Sacramento Bee are sissies. The woman writer defending him, who has no sports background, writes that the local Canzano has made his subjects want to attack him before, in court cases outside of sports. She demands "mutual respect" between media and players after her provocateur coworker started this. Do you see any mutual respect in this article? Read it. http://www.sacbee.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/andy-furillo/article120107843.html
I think I am gonna have to agree with Cousins on this one. This dude obviously had provoked cousins in the past and the mentioning of his brother is what put him over the top. Some people take that family shit seriously. He said "mention me all you want just don't mention my brother". I think that's fair. Getting in his face is fair. Like I said, if only a canzano would get checked like that. These certain writers just write shit articles and pump them out depending on the clickbait of the article. Anything I have read from Canzano has been absolute garbage. Quick was garbage before getting his comcast job. Media is dirty these days and will do anything for clicks and attention.
This is the entirety of what the reporter wrote about Cousins' brother: "For Cousins, this is his second late-night outing on the club circuit this year that ended badly. In May, TMZ caught him at The DrYnk in Tampa with his younger brother, Jaleel. The celebrity gossip website reported that he and his brother were trying to get into the club’s DJ area when a confrontation broke out. Jaleel wound up getting shocked with a Taser and arrested while friends hustled DeMarcus out of the place." If his brother was arrested, that is a matter of public record, not just something a reporter made up to make him look bad. His brother is also a professional basketball player (D League). So, coverage in the media of his actions on, and off the court (when they lead to an arrest) are fair game. I don't see what the reporter wrote that incensed Cousins so much. It's not like the reporter called Jaleel Cousins and immature douchebag. Cousins is being sued over the recent incident in New York and his brother was arrested after the incident in Tampa in May. Sounds to me like the reporter was just reporting. If DeMarcus Cousins doesn't want reporters writing about his brother getting arrested, maybe he should direct his anger at his brother for getting arrested. Lol, yeah I just wrote that. I crack me up sometimes. Of course DeMarcus Cousins will never hold his brother accountable for the actions that led to his arrest, because no one has never held DeMarcus Cousins accountable for his behavior. He always blames someone else for his poor behavior, the refs, his teammates, his coaches, his GMs, his owners and now multiple members of the media. Note, those are all plural. I know SAC is a shit show of an organization, but he's burned through several coaches, multiple GMs and multiple ownership groups, and has feuded with all of them. Now he threatened a reporter from the Sacramento Bee and refused to speak until a reporter from Cowbell Kingdom was forced to leave the room. The Kings didn't do themselves any favors when they drafted Cousins. Yes, he's an amazing talent, but what has it gotten them? They didn't even come close to having a winning season in his first six years there and won't again this year. Seven years of losing while coddling and trying to appease this childish, immature bully has gotten them nothing but more losing and the headaches caused by this headcase. They need to trade him for the good (and sanity) of the organization, even if it means getting less than comparable talent in return. They will never win one damn thing with DeMarcus Cousins in SAC. They've fired multiple coaches to appease him and brought in a more player friendly GM to coddle him, and nothing has changed. At some point, you just need to cut your losses and move on. That time is now. BNM
Good, now go get him Olshey. If "no GM" wants to trade for him then we should be able to get him without giving up McCollum.
In order to make the salaries match we'd have to throw in Crabbe though, then we might be over paying though.
Yeah, I also heard Cousins is going to build a wall between us and Cowbell Nation to keep the immigrants south of the border out, plus he's going to have them pay for it!
He's a great basketball player, he's happy for his teammates going crazy on the bench when they score and he even bothers to help people off the court. Kobe Bryant might have raped a girl and Micheal Jordan was a compulsive gambler who was associated with known criminals. I don't expect jocks to be the smartest people in the world or the nicest people in the world.
I've seen this story on other sites as well. This is great for us as his price might be dropping soon. This is perfect for Neil, maybe he can get another "trouble maker" after Harkless and Kamen.
It would be a constant circus if he came to Portland. Our media would make sure of that. Is he worth the headache? Yes.....just not for CJ.
That begs the question: is DeNarcus a petulant man-child that can't get along with anyone (referees, multiple coaches, multiple GMs, multiple owners, his own teammates and multiple members of the media), or is he a diabolical genius who is intentionally driving down his own trade value so the team that gets him won't be gutted in the process. Unfortunately, given the long, long, long history of this behavior, I suspect the former, but the net effect is still the latter. The more problems he causes on and off the court and the closer this gets to the deadline, the less his trade value becomes. So, instead of giving up C.J., like we thought we'd have to when the trade rumors started, now it might not even take Allen Crabbe to get him. Hell, if he keeps this up, we might not even have to give up a 1st round draft pick to get him. Any combination of two of Ed Davis, Festus Ezeli and Al-Farouq Aminu works (salary wise). BNM
Haha, I think you're pushing it. Crabbe + Plumlee would be a good price for us, Kings mgmt is not THAT stupid. BTW: Anyone remember what we got for Sheed? i remember a retiring Parson and Shareef and then he got traded for fucking Bob Sura... that was a good price for Detroit if i remember correct.
