Ya ever since the warriors got durrant i pretty much quit giving a fuck about the nba. It's no longer competitive and the blazers not competing every night makes me wish i didnt waste $200 on league pass as it's the only reason i havent cancled my directv service yet.

The last time i was this disappointed in my team was when lamarsha mailed it in agains the grizz and turned his back on us. But at least then i had cj and meyers actually trying and giving me something to root for.

I wish I had the powers to change places with someone. I would have filled in for Stotts. The second that technical got reversed, I would have told the whole team to just go to the locker room. Right then and there. Take the loss, and make a statement.... I would have gladly paid any NBA fines, for the whole team. It seems to be a trend this season- I find myself saying over and over that I have never seen a call so bad.... Reverse a technical so the player can keep playing??? Call a shot clock violation before the buzzer even goes off??? Yeah, the team didn't play great D again, however, they could have easily won it, if it weren't for the HORRIBLE calls by the refs. These dudes(and that one chick) need to be fired. Period. They have made it so it's not fun to watch the games. Even other games that don't involve the Blazers. Professionals? Not even close.... Why do I keep have the feeling like these refs are making bets on the games, or they are getting paid off by someone? Am I the only one that feels this way??? Serious question...

Advantages of living in the Eastern Time Zone - I went to bed at half time, happy in the knowledge that there was no way we could blow THIS one...

    So.

How DID we blow this one?

Think of it this way: losing on the road is the utilitarian thing to do. You make a lot of people (in this case, members of a sad, embittered, desperate fanbase, who paid a lot of money to see a crappy team) very happy. Blazers spreading seasonal cheer!

Yes, the refs make maddening calls far too often, and it always seems to be against the Blazers. There's never any justice for it, because the NBA could care less about Portland. Sometimes I wish Stotts would throw a chair onto the court, or someone would just dump the fucking gatorade cooler all over a ref.

And they called that technical on Plumlee, for what to me, looked like an obvious accident, when he hit Cousins in the face. Then you have Cousins on the other end staring down a rival, spitting his mouth piece, and the t is recinded? That is the game right there. (not to mention the shit that Draymond Green does that they don't call, but then make a RULE about it the following year)

And why would the refs defend Cousins? He gets on their ass all the time, and the Blazers are almost too nice to the refs.

Those two calls right there swayed the outcome of the game. NBA refs determine games way too often.

People complaining about the refs, the Blazer did almost nothing in the 4th to force the zebras to blow the whistle. They got lazy and jacked up 3's like undisciplined teams tend to do.

We allowed them to shoot 44% on threes, Cousins 5 for 8, all except one wide open. Apparently Leonard and Plumlee cannot stand out there and guard him because they constantly need to hedge back to stop the quick guys darting past Lillard and McCollum. And when Cousins drives from out there, I thought our bigs channeled him enough and slowed him enough that someone with enough courage could have stepped in front of him and drawn a charge. Didn't happen; everyone stayed with their guys even though i don't think Cousins has a great reputation for passing on the run.

We should stop hedging and let our guards get burned constantly. Maybe it'll wake them the fuck up to play some D.

Fuck, sounds like we lost. The Blazers haven't warranted the need for me to stay up and check scores lately, so I went to bed when we had a 12 pt. lead hoping I'd wake up to a cheery crowd on s2.
I couldn't watch so I won't speculate too much, but it sounds like the refs did their usual bit to help facilitate an outcome?

That shouldn't been a T on Plum he dunk the shot and his follow through hit cousins in the face very accidental nothing should been call. Now taunting in the NBA is automatic T and spitting your mouth toward another is automatic T. But the funny thing about this whole thing the ref ask Stotts if he threw it or spit it out. Stotts told him he spit it out toward them. So the ref didn't even see it in the first place. You got 3 official out on the floor didn't see it, what the hell are they looking at. I official and coach over 20 years. I never seen any thing like how NBA official call the game there just ass bad simple as that there no accountability with refs in the NBA and they have there 2 minutes report that has cost teams games but what happens nothing. So silvers get your head out of your ass and start fining these guys for there failure of doing there job.

I've dealt with adults who have that mentality for most of my adult life. They are always the victim, and they are always wronged. The facts (!), or in this case the video, will totally back them up!!! I swear!!

It's like when MWP or Draymond Green hit someone and claim it was their "natural motion". Basically, the only way they can compete is to cheat or play like a cry baby.

The worst thing about it is they get away with it AND praised for it.

That officiating crew is always one of the worst. Never been a fan of Workman. Cousin's antics did not help. They bought into his bullshit. The 4th or 5th foul on Meyers , when he got the technical, was embarrassingly bad.

i wonder after these types of losses just how pissed Stotts gets at the team.

I sincerely hope coach isnt just on some 'nearly had them' bullshit vs focusing on the complete collapse in the 2nd half.

there were some bright points tho, CJ, Plum and Mo played well, but some of the shot selection later in the game and the failure to implement a lockdown strategy with a decent lead is becoming a typical 'Blazers' performance.

To Blazer - To snatch defeat from the jaws of victory via mindnumbingly stupid actions.

Cousins did two things very blatantly:

    • Spit his mouthpiece at he who irritates
    • Destroyed, punked, decimated, disregarded and manhandled the Blazers.

if it was dame dropping 50 on the Rockets and spitting his mouthguard at Harden then getting un-ejected we'd probably all be laughing our asses off....

tbh dropping 50, cussing out a bitch of a player, being unejected, and getting the W is a preferred scenario of the 2.
