How does 9.7% round to over 10% lol.

I understand your point, but there are teams that would surely want Leonard in a trade. Brooklyn and Dallas would be the teams I'd expect to want him the most. Dallas has no centers behind Bogut who's getting old and expiring and Brooklyn has no centers behind Lopez who they'll probably trade. Brooklyn also offered $18M a year to Crabbe so $9M for Leonard is nothing.

I was rounding Meyers contract up to 10 mil per year. But if those teams want Meyers, I pray that they get him.

is paul george a difference maker on defense if the cost is McCollum,Harkless and a first?
They better fit a miles turner development timeline age wise if Pacers move to rebuild. Still doesn't address our interior defense but would shore up the wings with an all nba first and second teamer.

    Exactly.

This is why I don't worry about future cap space. I worry about flexibility to deal.

I think you try hard to keep Harkless if you go after George. McCollum, Plumlee, Vonleh, and a couple firsts if possible. Then trade Crabbe or whoever for Noel to give you a starting lineup of
    Lillard, George, Harkless, Aminu, Noel.

The switch potential for that lineup would be amazing.

I will ask you what was asked of me when I proposed this same scenario.
Why is Indiana gonna trade PG?

I didn't have a good answer. Do you?

To align their timeline with Turner? Idk. It was hypothetical.

I can use that sentence with a fill in the blank for most players out there...why would anyone want to trade...answer...we have some contracts on the books that'll never be seen again for teams that need relief.

Why does MIN need cap relief? They are more than $12 million under the cap and only have two players making more than $8 million this year. Garnett comes off the books after this season and Pek after next. By the time their young guys are up for extension, the few "big" contracts they currently have will be off the books.

Dieng was the first to the extended. Why would they extend him, make him a starter and then dump him after half a season? It's not like he's playing poorly. So, I doubt if they're having any buyer's remorse.

I think it's sort of what everyone needs...especially teams not contending. You may be right....why would New Orleans trade Chris Paul? We're all dealing with speculation at this point. I just see what product we've put on the floor and watch teams and think...that guy would be great here. I doubt Thibs would move Dieng but on the offside chance....he'd be great here.

They had to. The team was bankrupt (was taken over by the other 29 owners) and Paul had said he was leaving if they didn't trade him. He was going to walk for nothing.

The Dieng situation is the exact opposite. He just signed an extension that doesn't even go into affect until next year. They have him locked up long term and are at no risk of losing him for nothing.
