Re: I'll be the first here to admit it Alright I admit it. Chris Webber has ended up being a great signing for you guys. Almost everything that made Webber a cancerous player in Philadelphia he has stopped doing in Detroit. He's actually shooting a high %, he's grabbing rebounds, and passing well like you guys needed. Out of the few games I've been able to see he hasn't really been disrupting the flow of the offense and he appears to have accepted his lower role there. Of course he still hasn't really bothered on D but you guys don't really need him to be effective there. So congrats on the signing and I admit I was wrong.
Re: I'll be the first here to admit it I thought he was going to be a dud when he came over to Detroit as I didn't see him improving on his season as he was having a horrible one with the 76ers. But ever since he has come over they have had really good chemistry and is putting up about 13 or 14 on a consistent basis. Today against the Cavs he had 13 in the first half and had a good overall game. The Pistons must have saw something in him that the rest of the league didn't.
Re: I'll be the first here to admit it I just think Detroit was a better situation for him. In Philly he had so much pressure on him to be the second option to Iverson, and he never lived up to that (not even in his 20-10 season... those numbers were inflated). He was definitely a defensive liability in Philadelphia also, but we didn't have the great team defense that Detroit has. The Pistons, for the most part, can effectively mask his defensive deficiencies because of Rasheed and Tayshaun. Not only that but in Detroit he doesn't have to put up 20 points a night for them to win. Everybody on the Pistons can score, so he can use his passing skills more. Plus he is motivated to make up for his mistakes at Michigan and win a ring for his hometown team. Detroit is just the perfect situation for him, and it's showing.

Here in Detroit is a way better situation for Webber. I think he basically has no pressure on him now, unlike when he was in Philly and had to be the second option.

I have been watching Chris Webber for a few years now, I know his game inside and out. Chris Webber disrupts the offensive flow on teams. He doesn't play defense, he shoots the mid range jumper too often, he turns the ball over in his sleep. He's shooting a horrible percentage for a big man, under 40% from the field.I think a lot of you guys are falling victim to Chris Webber on paper. He's not going to be much help.</div>
Re: I'll be the first here to admit it I still know Chris Webber's game inside and out, just because he's producing in Detroit doesn't mean I don't know exactly how he plays.
Re: I'll be the first here to admit it Lol, he scored what 13 on Z? Z is slower then a dam snail for crying out loud.
Re: I'll be the first here to admit it Webber's been playing better since he was signed with Detroit. He's playing with great players that can score, Billips, Hamilton, Prince and Wallce. They can all score and it helps take off the pressure for webber. But to be honest I didn't expect him to be much better then he was in Philly.

Re: I'll be the first here to admit it I'm still not sold on anything. Everyone plays well at first with their new team and everything is all fine and dandy right away. Give this more time. Webber just won't just miraculously change his game for good. He'll still take more mid-range shots than any PF should, he'll miss shots, he'll end up wanting the ball a *little* bit more, and he'll always be a liability on defense.
Re: I'll be the first here to admit it Dude, players that go to new teams do not ussually play good as soon as they go there....I ussually think of it the other way around. Webbers situation in Detroit is completley different. He is shooting a better percentage because he doesn't have to force as many shots considering he is open alot more. He has better teammattes which takes ALOT of pressure off of him. I think the fact that he is starting on one of the best teams in the NBA over the last few seasons is helping his confidence as well. I bet going to Detroit, he didnt know what to expect...Whether he would start or not. But he is really playing within himself. He is making good passes, not forcing too many shots, and doing a good job on the glass. Im happy for C-Webb.

He's one of the most talented big men of the past decade, without question. But that was then and this is now, and now he is not half the player he was in 2003 or even early 2004. He's not going to play this well and this efficiently for his entire tenure in Detroit. He'll be all fine and dandy for now, but give it time. It won't stay this way for all that long. If he does stay this way, no question I'll gladly come out and say "Chris Webber proved me wrong," but until then, he's the same C-Webb as he was 3 weeks ago.

But, this C-Webb has more options and less responsibility than Philly's C-Webb. I really think he can score at the very least 12 ppg for the rest of the season. His defense is still dissapointing, but his shooting can keep it up. He's not selfish, he is a smart passer and can find Tayshaun and Delfino in the corner for the three.
Re: I'll be the first here to admit it I was just looking at his gamelog.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/gamelog?statsId=1272 You guys are 5-0 when he scores in double figures and 0-3 when he doesn't.
