Gosh, Texas A&M just couldnt miss tonight it seemed. I knew that Texas was going to lose when they stopped going to Durant. He started off the second half great, but then he started going away from his 3 point shot and forcing shots from the mid range. He played a great game overall, but it just wasnt enough. This was just an average game for Durant....Law and Kavilauskus (sp) played great for A&M and so did Carter. (even though I think some of Carters shots were completley lucky) A&M is a great team and I wouldnt be surprised to see them in the final four.

Kevin Durant is obviously just huge for texas. If Jones can take over on the boards, or at least limit Durant's talent, we'll be much better off. Defense has been the key for the Ags this year, but we allowed a ton of offensive boards against Kansas. That may be the key against texas.

    Justice's Extra Thoughts/Notes
Texas A&M is coming off a big win at Kansas. It was not only A&M's first win at Phog Allen Fieldhouse, but the first win for any team from the Big 12 South. texas is coming off a tough loss against KSU at home. Let me tell you something, though. If I could give a number on how much those games matter, it would be a big fat goose egg. Both teams will be playing their hardest. This is a huge school rivalry. texas will be playing their hardest as will the Ags with a packed Reed Arena.

    Justice's Prediction
I think it will be very close. Last year at home, Acie hit a 3 to win it by 1 at the buzzer. I don't know if it will be that close, but I have no doubts that texas will work their asses off. A&M does have a 20 game winning streak at home though, which bodes well for the Aggies. I have to go with the home team, but texas is the only team from the Big 12 aside from Kansas that I fear could beat us at Reed.

Hmmm, where have I seen this layout before? [IMG] Nice write-up, Justice!

This was a good game. My guy, Acie Law, showed what he could do tonight. He's such a good/heady player, one of the best point guards in the country right now. He played under great control all night, he set the tone early and continued to play well throughout. He had such a nice game tonight, and he's going to be such a solid player in the NBA.

Durant showed flashes of brilliance, and he started off the second half on fire, but then he kind of faded away for the last 8-10 minutes of the game. Nothing to worry about, the kid is dynamite in crunch time for the most part, but tonight A&M did a good job of denying him the ball late in the game. I know Dicky V said that, but it's true. Durant had a very nice first half and he scored in many ways (off penetration, the 3's, mid-range floaters, etc.). He's such an unbelievable talent, I'm blown away.

Josh Carter had himself an excellent game for A&M, and he was definitely tonight's X-Factor. He was aggressive offensively and he was really firing from deep.

Good win for Texas A&M, they are an overlooked team. They will do some damage in March.

Man Texas lost to our rivals A+M it was close for most of the game but at the end they pulled away. Durant had an awesome game once again but he just doesn't have the supporting cast that he needs for them to get close wins like this. Acie Law had a very good game and he sprained his ankle also, 21 points and a career high 15 assists. IMO as of right now Kevin Durant is clearly the player of the year.

I LOVE watching Acie Law play. One of my favorite college players. I'd love to see him in a Celtics uni, but then again we have Rondo and Delonte so maybe not.

Yeah, Law doesn't fit here, but I LOVE him as well. I've been a big fan of Law for a year now, he's such a heady player and he always comes up big for A&M when they need him the most. I'd also love him in Boston, but again, he doesn't fit here at all. No room for him to play.

Honestly, this game was pretty hard to watch. It was fun to win, yeah, but between Vitale riding Durant and all the foul calls, I just about went crazy. I'm not saying texas didn't earn any of their foul calls, but some of them were pretty shaky. There were also a couple times when I felt like Antanas was fouled under the basket.Oh, and there was a point where they said that our lead was misleading. We had two starters foul out with over 6 minutes left, our best player was injured for a short time, and we still won by 18. I sincerely hope that they weren't implying that we got lucky.Yay Acie!

Your all pretty much right, Dickie Vitale was all over Durant's nuts. But considering what Vitale's had to watch over the last 5 years, seeing such an amazing player in college has him excited and I can't blame him. You gotta love Dickie V, I used to hate the guy but now that I listen to him a couple of nights a week I've gotten used to him...you gotta love his energy and passion for the game. Of course Durant was great as always, Texas A&M impressed me a lot (this is the first time I've watched them this season). Joe Jones reminds me of a Zach Randolph/Al Jefferson type. Not many players are as physically developed as him in college right now. Antanas Kavaliauskas was pretty impressive too, Dickie said he's put on 50 pounds...when he blew by his defender from the three-point line and drove it in...impressive for a 6'11" guy. Josh Carter can really shoot the ball...just a great group of players...The A&M crowd was great as well. (even though it looks like a clansman rally). Texas' youth really showed tonight, on defense they just got killed for the most part.

He still made some bad shots. He airballed one three pointer, came up short on a few other relatively close shots. Dick isn't my least favorite announcer, but it's hard to believe that he really thinks some of the things that he does.Joseph Jones is pretty good. I kinda think he could be a little bit overrated. I'm not sure that he's NBA ready, even though he will probably be in this year's draft. Antanas is just awesome. I've been telling you guys this. He's not a guy that has been getting a lot of airtime. He was really upset when we lost against LSU last year, and I think he's been trying to fix all that. Josh Carter was pretty hot tonight, but you have to expect that from him once in a while. And of course our fans were kickass. It looked like a clansman rally because of the white-out. Football gets maroon-out, so it makes sense.

I remember 2 years ago Duke was loosing by like 10 at home and all he would say is "Its the rims!"Anyways, TAMU can and will go far in the tourney because of Acie Law and their D which is the best in the country. No doubt about it. When they play in College Station they are nearly unbeatable, but so is OSU at Stillwater and that game is coming up. :brucelee:

It's just the fact that it's very annoying when you're the other team. At least he made notice of how awesome Antanas is.Also, for anyone who disagrees with me that texas got a few too many calls, think about this. Last year, texas had PJ Tucker, LaMarcus, and Gibson, yet only scored 43 points.Let that sink in.
