I admit it's odd to me that a person would vote for a Trump presidency and then be fine with Mike Pence doing the daily part of his job, but that's your right. In my experience, when you get a new job you want to get to know your new co-workers and assistants (such as the folks who do the national security briefings) to gain trust and build a working relationship.
