Charlie Rosen chose to make some really ignorant comments about Boston and the Celtics:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"Not-so-wonderful-Wally has to play for several reasons, not the least of which is his gargantuan contract. But the biggest reason is a matter of pigmentation. Think Hondo. Think Cowens. Think McHale. Think Bird. Think Boston.</div>"Think Russell. Think Parrish. Think JoJo White. Think Maxwell. Think 98% of the current Celtics roster. There's no reason to pull the race card on the amount of playing time Wally Szczerbiak gets. He plays because he's a veteran and Glenn "Doc" Rivers (an African-American coach, may I add) publically stated he prefers playing the veterans. There is no story behind it or conspiracy theory.About that coach, Doc Rivers, who is African-American, he has clearly been a bad coach and Danny Ainge has made it clear he will not be letting Rivers go anytime soon. Explain that.I admit, Boston in the past was pretty blatently racially biased with their selection of players (mainly the Red Sox) but so was the rest of the country. The ignorance of people was all around the country through the 1960's. But Boston is no longer racist, point blank period and it has not been for a long time. Also, heres some quick facts for you.The Boston Celtics were the first team to draft a black player in 1950 when they drafted Charles Cooper. The Boston Celtics were the first team to have an all-black starting five in the 1964/1965 season. The Boston Celtics were the first team to hire a black coach when Bill Russell was appointed coach in 1966.So please, never hint that the town I and many others represent is racially biased ever again. The facts are there for you and it's your decision on whether or not you choose to accept those facts." - Me This guys a clown
