...not that the Raiders have much of of chance since losing Derek Carr to a broken leg but who or what the hell decides who decides who the home team is for the W/C game? ...the Raiders not only finished with a much better record (12-4) while the Texans finished 9-7, but the Raiders also beat the Texans during the regular season...but for some reason the Raiders are forced to play on the road at Houston who was given HFA in the W/C game...I mean, what kind of crack head reasoning/scheduling is that?
^^^lol...you know, you're right, Mess...for some reason I was thinking Houston was a W/C instead of a divisional winner and I was thinking the 2 W/C teams always played each other like the do in Baseball. ...my bad.... makes more sense now...Duh !
crack headed reasoning, that's what.... I can't recall such a debacle in NFL PS scheduling. Even if a Team Division Winner has a lesser record, than another team in a different Division (even if the other team is a WC), imo, the team w/the better record should have home field advantage, regardless. Wonder what flak one can toss at this - ? I Love how MLB finally got this one right, with the Series, and PS, w/home field advantage(s)...
^^^I just totally misinterpreted the playoff format, plain and simple...not sure what I was thinking. ...love to see Cook get the start next week. The Raiders could not believe he was still available that far down in the draft when they snagged him...the kid is very good.
^^^^ Cook was a steal in the draft. Could turn out to be a helluva good QB in his own. I've wondered long term, what Oakland plans with Cook, always good to have a backup QB as good as you can get. As well, a team with 2 QB's, can easily use one for a trade chip.... Don't really wan't to see either Carr or Cook even become fodder talks for a trade, keep 'em both, ie Montana/Young, maybe not quit, yet, anyway....?
volly #2 at ya' 59.... and- here's one reason, I don't like NCAA FB rankings, as never being near accurate, kinda' like WAR can be, neither a complete pic/stat by any means... Connor Cook- 6'4" 220 lbs. Started 3 games as a Freshman in 012, had Le'Veon Bell for a RB. Sophmore: 013, Won Big Ten vs Ohio St. 13-1 Record. (lost to Notre Dame earlier in season when MSU was un-ranked, while ND was ranked #22 at that time, but ND would fall out of the Top 25 by year end. Ranked #10- MSU went on to win the Big 10 Championship game vs #2-Ohio St. MSU ranking #4 after OSU game victory; winning the Rose Bowl entry. #4- MSU beats #5 Stanford in the Rose Bowl; earning a final ranking #3 behind #1 FSU and Jameis Winston, and #2 Auburn, the Natl title game with the most points scored in the last 3 minutes. Jr. 014- ** Began, the season ranked #8. (MSU's Defense also remained ranked #8 thru the year). Lost only two games, too then #3 Oregon, and then #13 ranked Ohio St, as MSU was ranked #7, in a bitter loss to Urban Meyer's team from Cols. The only 2 Teams to beat Mich. St. were both OSU teams, whom would play for the Natl Title. Ended season ranked #7, beat #4 Baylor in Cotton Bowl. Final ranking #5 behind #1 Ohio St. #2 Oregon #3 TCU #4 Alabama ** Note: MSU's Defense remained ranked #2 all year Sr. 015- Began Season ranked #5 Lost only one game during the Season, to un-ranked Nebraska. Won Big 10 Championship vs #4 Iowa, (after knocking off #2 Ohio St. 2 weeks earlier). Lost in Final Four Championship Tourny to Alabama ranked #1, and winner of the 015 title. MSU ended ranked #6, being leap frogged by Ohio st, a beaten opponent, who moved up the rankings by beating an unworthy horrid #8 tanked Notre Dame, who shouldn't of even been ranked imo. Bama, the best defense in the NCAA in 015 and 016 punished MSU 38-0, shutting down not just Cook, but the entire offense, and Coaching staffs. 015 Season was amazing seeing how MSU's Defense was ranked a pitiful #26 thru the Season. 015 MSU FB was all about CC and the Offense... Over his career in College, he's had some great receiver's at that level mostly, (as some have yet to gel of course in the NFL). Among active NCAA FBS quarterbacks, Cook is ranked among MSU’s all-time leaders in 300-yard passing games (tied for first with 10), touchdown passes (first with 71), total offense (first with 9,018 yards), 200-yard passing games (second with 25), passing efficiency (third with 143.1 rating), passing yards (third with 8,793), pass attempts (third with 1,099), pass completions (third with 638), and pass completion percentage (ninth at .581). The kids is a better passer than his numbers reflect, less his passing efficiency rating, which merely shows he wasn't a typical gunslinger like many who throw 40-50+ times a game, but when he does throw as is his custom 27-30 attempts per game, they count big time, .... at least that was how it was in his NCAA career. If he could have that much, we'd have a helluva QB tandem, and I don't see why not in time.... this research comes as a courtesy of the bullshit network from pirated broaband signals coming of the mojave desert. Any use may be used against our will, and sued for any reason whatsoever, after all this is California, and no one yet, has been killed in the making of this post, other than a pair of mockingbirds, that I'm eating, bbqing late night for a snack....ok, back to the ganja diaries... some great previews of Cook...at MSU
the pleasure is all mine, had nothing better to do thru the night, than watch the stars, and think.... ah fk it, thinking, I'm retired..... more football, let's play 2 seasons, ... but then ST opens in 7 wks...?
