Crabbe for Noel has to happen, hope we won't even have to sweeten the deal with a pick or anything. Truth be told neither team needs the player they will be trading, both will be overpaid come Summer (Noel will ask for $15M+) and I'm not sure too many teams will come asking for Noel with anything of real value. For some reason Washington have been linked with both Okafor and Noel but that would mean Gortat was available, so we could get him instead (for Polish link I would obviously love it).

One thing for sure, the next month and a half have to be busy for Olshey. He has to make some deals, otherwise we risk being left with no center at the beginning of next season as Plumlee will almost definitely not sign here if we don't offload anyone.

Crabbe for Noel would be ideal I think. We get rid of a bad contract for a role player and even if Noel asks for the same amount he is worth it. He can be our defensive anchor for the next decade. If we can get rid of Meyers(+Ezeli,Davis) as well then maybe there are some money to try sign Plumlee.

    Lillard,Napier, Quarterman
    CJ,Connaughton
    Harkless,Turner,Layman
    Aminu,Vonleh
    Noel,Plumlee

This roster (+3 more contracts) can cost even less money than the current one and for me it would be much better.

This roster leaves almost zero cover at PG, SG and SF. Turner would have to cover all three positions, Napier is reasonably competent but not capable of filling in as a starter when one of our main players goes down, the likes of Quarterman and Connaughton are not NBA players yet (in case of Connaughton I don't think he will ever be good enough to play 10+ minutes a game), I'm not sure Layman is NBA ready either - since his first few games where he impressed he's been rather underwhelming. He's barely been playing but even when he got 10-12 minutes against Memphis and Golden State he did not do much. He's only really impressed against second string Warriors and Clippers which is fine for a rookie, but not good enough to rely on yet.

When Crabbe goes we have to look for a shooting guard (if Turner covers SF and PG and Napier covers PG) or point guard (if Turner covers SG and SF) or small forward (Turner becomes comboguard). We have a lot of bigs to trade for one.

There are 3 contracts missing. I just included the current roster+Noel. Of course you need the cover you said.

I'd go after Malik Beasley in Denver. Nuggets are loaded at guard he could probably be had. Potential 3 and D guy.

I can't believe Olshey included a 2016 1st round pick and a 2019 2nd round pick with Barton, Claver, and Thomas Robinson, all in exchange for just Afflalo and Alonzo Gee. I often wonder...who did that 1st round pick (#19 in the draft) turn out to be?

Not a chance that Olshey goes after him. Too humiliating.

I know that Greg Monroe usually plays against 2nd team guys but did you know that his real plus/minus is a lot better than Hassan Whiteside's and a little better than Brook Lopez and almost as good as Dwight Howard's? (of course then I noticed Marrese Speights is better than any of them but that's because GS outscores everyone so bad, isn't it?) Whereas Milwaukee is pretty much a .500 club so that shouldn't have much effect. (oops I see Speights plays for LAC)http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/position/9

Greg Monroe can opt out after this season, so we'd have to match salaries on a rental. No thanks.

Well, we have some salaries I think we would be glad to get rid of.

Well the point is he is not playing for a team that outscores anyone lately. And these stats don't really make sense when some players only play against second units or they are part of really good teams.

According to ESPN (Chris Haynes), DMC or Noel are not on our radar.

I am pretty sure there is zero chance of us landing Cousins but Noel was somewhat realistic. Who the hell do we want to take? I think Okafor might be on our radar more than Noel actually because of how many times Olshey tried to get a scoring big. Maybe it's Vucevic. We MUST get a center.

I always wonder why pretty much every team waits until the last possible second (deadline day) to make a move. I guess in theory the longer you wait the more info you have, but some teams like Portland already know what they are, or can be, because they've been together long enough. Yeah there's the whole January 15th thing that could be prohibitive but I would put good money on the Blazers not actually making a move until deadline day.

And Portland isn't the only team in this boat. Denver and Philly should both be motivated to deal and that's just off the top of my head.

Sometimes I miss trader bob. Besides his aggressiveness in acquiring players, I like how he went against all the chemistry/culture stuff Olshey is now preaching about. Whitsitt didn't care about any of that and the locker room probably was a mess but guess what, we still won. Kobe and Shaq hated each other, but guess what, they won. if Olshey doesn't go after Noel because of character reasons, he can go fuck himself, because that excuse shouldn't be acceptable.

Ignore all this, I'm just venting.

If that article by chris haynes holds any truth to it. I would bet on Olshey not making any moves and just letting the season play out, do all his work in offfseason

That's fine, but if Nurkic, Noel, and Vucevic end up getting moved elsewhere, Olshey better have something good planned because those are some real missed opportunities.

Watch, he's just waiting to trade Crabbe for brook.

New Orleans needs to trade Anthony Davis to Boston for Johnson, Smart, Brown, Brooklyns '17 and '18 picks, and MEM's and LAC's 2019 first round picks.

The Pelicans would likely have 2 straight years with 2 top 5 picks. Davis and Horford would be a hell of a frontcourt.
