It's not just that. The drought was hyped as caused by global warming. Looks more like it was caused by el nino and the diversion of river water to the ocean instead of to central and southern california.

Man has been building aqueducts for millennia. The ones to central and southern california are at least 50 years old, if not older. The water diversion back to the oceans instead of the aqueducts started with the "drought."
