Lebron's sig looks good, and I think it would look better with some slight blending and better text. The AI one, well the bright blue bg kills it.

They're good beginner type sigs - you just need some more practice that's all there really is to say.

It is ok. If you are going to put the text on overlay, do a drop shadow or 1 px black stroke.

Thanks.Three big things I think I need to work on are:*Render blending and effects*Better use of stock pictures*My textI will see what I can do. Thanks again.

Posted this a while back, decided you could use some of it. YOu might or might not know everything I said, just pick up some tips.Pic effects: There are some simple, but effective ones that you can to. You could go to layer -> duplicate layer. Then, on the bottom layer, press ctrl -> alt -> u at the same time. Make the saturation at -100. Then set the top layer to overlay at 100.Another one is duplicate the layer, on the top layer go to filter -> render -> gaussian blur and make it at 1.0. Then go to edit -> fade gaussian blur and make it a 100% opacity and set it to either overlay, soft light, or something else that looks good. For the background, the best things to put in there are stock pictures (best place is imageafter.com) brushes (deviantArt) and patterns (http://wallpaperguide.com/images/large/01/Index of /images/large/01)Put some of those in backgrounds and mess with the opacity and filter it is on (normal, overlay, color dodge, anything that looks good). As for text go to right click blending options. Well before that download fonts from typenow.net and I always make my font white, and sometimes black. That is just me, but I think it looks best. Now blending options here is a simple, but good looking thing you can do.Make the font color white. Then in set it to overlay or soft light, whichever looks better. Then go to drop shadow and just change the distance, make it 0. Then go down to stroke and make the stroke black a 1 px. Lower the opacity to whatever looks good.Lastly, coloring in a sig. I mainly use gradient maps. They are the best way to go. To get to them, on the bottom of the layer palate there is a little circle that is half black/half white. Click on it and go up to gradient map. Choose from those don't worry if it doesn't match your sig, mine usually don't. Just mess with the opacity and when level it is on (normal, overlay, whatever looks good).

Sorry for the double post, but here is my LeBron Sig. I tried to use stock images and I blended the render better. It isn't anything special, but it is a start. I think I am headed in the right direction.[IMG]

Yeah you are headed in the right direction for sure. I like the sig, just needs work. The pic doesn't fit in with everything else, a little messy bg and I don't like the text; it looks pink almost.

You're getting better. Just make sure your text isn't so hard to read. Get some tutorials that use lighting too.You can try this coloring too when you make another sig.Go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Gradient MapChange the gradient to the one they have there that is orange/blue.. set it to overlay at like 80% or so.Then do the same gradient map thing, black/white. Set to darken at any % that looks good.Or you could play with it and get a color that looks good. Hope this helps.

Here is something I tried with a Ray Allen PSD:V1[IMG]V2[IMG]I tried some new things. It may be to plain or green and I know the text isn't the best, but I think it looks better than most my others.

Honestly, I think that your Ray Allen one might be your best one yet. Maybe make the pic face the other direction because it looks wierd having him layup to the left and he's on the left. Like either put him on the right and switch it with the text or mirror the image if you understand what I mean. Text is good, not really feeling the "Ray" part of it but the Allen one definitely goes well with the sig. I personally like V1 better because you don't need to put the Sonics logo in the sig twice, you already have it in your background and it looks fine without the second one. Good job on it and keep practicing, you definitely have the potential to get better.

[IMG]I tried not to overlay so much on this one. I don't think it turned out so well (compared to my other stuff), but I can't really decide. I can't figure out how to get to much better. I am going to look through some tuts and things like that, hopefully that will help. I can never seem to find text that works either.
