TRAIL BLAZERS WELCOME PISTONS FOR WEATHER-DELAYED CLASH ON SUNDAY
    By Cody Sharrett

The Portland Trail Blazers (16-22) look to earn back-to-back wins for the first time since early December Sunday evening as they welcome the Detroit Pistons (17-21) to Moda Center. The contest was originally slated for Saturday night, before a winter storm hit the Northwest, forcing postponement. It is meeting is the first of two between the two interconference foes in 2016-17.

Two-time All-Star point guard Damian Lillard returned to lineup to help the Blazers to a 118-109 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday night after missing five games with a sprained left ankle. Lillard’s double-double of 20 points and 10 assists to go with CJ McCollum’s 27 points to help Portland overcome a double-digit deficit on their way to the win over LA.

The Pistons visit Portland having won two of their last three games, most recently beating the Charlotte Hornets 115-114 at home on Thursday. Tobias Harris’ 16.6 points lead a cast of six players averaging double figures through the first 38 games of the season.

Sunday’s contest is available locally on CSNNW as Kevin Calabro, Lamar Hurd and Brooke Olzendam provide live coverage from tipoff at 6pm. Brian Wheeler has the call Rip City Radio 620 and the Trail Blazers mobile app.

Supposed to be worse tonight - still plays game. Just cancel the damn game... so these two teams play one less game than everyone... better than people potentially getting hurt going to a freaking game.

Why nopt tack it onto the end of the season? Neither team will make the playoffs anyhow so it wont affect time off beforehand...

Detroit plays in the East... unless you're philly, you're always in the playoff hunt.

Concessions for the entire 300 level closed? Move as many of those fans as possible to the lower bowl then.

Why are the Blazers "welcoming" their opponent? This isn't a church social.

    Well Bert,

This is an obvious and logical question, so I will reply in kind.
Portland is known for having an exquisite night life with a plethora of events, restaurants and clubs to more than satisfy the average young millionaire athlete.
It is plainly obvious that when the game was cancelled last night, the Pistons, who are from Detroit and endure this type of weather on a regular basis, took the closure with a grain of salt and proceeded to venture out into the night and become captivated by what all Portland has to offer.

It has since been reported to the Blazers that several of Detroits' players have yet to make it back from their night out and several more have yet to come out of their hangover.

The Blazers, as always, promptly and courteously welcomed them with a message while simultaneously laughing their asses off as they hit send.

Another proud moment as a Blazers fan!

Welcoming our opponent? Fuck that shit!

No wonder we suck this year.

Kick their teeth in! (Metaphorically speaking, of course.)

I'm gonna head over there, sure seems like they should be handing out free SinFire shots for those who make it.

Wish I were in Portland. Seems like a good night to buy 300 level from a desperate seller, then upgrade

Or just buy 100 level from a desperate seller 10 minutes before game time.
