Looks like a Mike Love Good Vibrations Surfboard mobile if you ask me...you just need a striped shirt and white chinos and you're there
This is unfortunate, to say the least. The Chargers played in Qualcomm stadium, which is not ideally located and not very modern. There's not much foot traffic for the stores around the stadium so the attraction doesn't really help. The fans would park in the lots of the major shopping malls and surrounding strip malls near the tram so they could take that to the stadium. The store owners were never happy with that. When it was gameday, we didn't like to go out anywhere near the stadium. Traffic really sucked and it was hard to find parking. People complained they got bad cell phone reception at the games, too. Too many people in one spot, not enough cell towers to cover them all. Not enough incentive for the carriers to install cell towers for 1 day a week, part of the year. The Chargers made a lot of noise about wanting to stay, but this was a hammer they held over the entire city for the past few years. They put a shitty team on the field as if they didn't care anymore. Fuck LA.
Apparently LA doesn't even want them. This isn't a situation where a city was courting a team (like Seattle trying to steal the Kings). This is a team basically forcing a city to take them.
A team that doesn't want to move is moving to a stadium its owners don't want to share in a city that doesn't care. FAKE NEWS.
The Chargers played this perfectly, much like the owners of the Thunder did when they left Seattle. Put up a false front like you want to stay, but (not so) secretly trying to get out. Next step, you make it sound like it was actually the fans fault and the cities fault...and the final step is to get the national idiots on radio to blame the city and the fans and lo and be hold, the owners are the victims.
The Clippers logo looks like an ugly variation on the Cubs logo while the Chargers logo looks like they ripped off the Dodgers logo and made a few slight changes to it.
The Chargers are oozing up to the land of "Oxygen Bars" to play second fiddle to an MLS team. Mark Davis is about to take that shitty ass hair cut and relocate the Raiders to the land of Never Ending Buffets and Slot Machines. NFL is losing hearts and minds and saying "Fuck You" to local fans. So now maybe ESPN should dedicate even more coverage to the NFL while giving the middle finger to hockey and baseball? Yeah. That will do the trick! Seriously though, I've lived in San Diego. People there have followed that team since players like Lance Alworth dazzled weekly. I truly love that city though I only lived their a short time. Makes me realize how lucky we are to have the Blazers and Timbers. We could easily have fallen victim to an owner who is a money grubbing scumbag.
This just means we'll now get coverage of only 5 teams total. Chargers, Rams, Cowboys, Giants, Jets. Then when the Raiders move we'll get them too for a brief period of time. I love the NFL, but I hate the media's coverage of it and I REALLY hate the Chargers moving to L.A.. That is a classic franchise with a surprisingly historic past. It's a travesty. Go Hawks.
Yeah. Well I don't love the NFL. And it's because of shit like this..... http://highline.huffingtonpost.com/articles/en/nfl-football-moms-kids/ Baseball has been burned at the stake for years and these assholes are helping to "maintain the fiction" that frankly, stinks. I like football. I will watch the games. But I am not a hardcore fan.
I wish I could say I wasn't a hardcore fan of football, but it's the only sport I religiously follow. NBA/MLB I go through pockets of interest. Like October-November 4th I am locked into NBA action then it dies down till Christmas and lasts till about the NFLs first playoff game, then I get back into in from the ASB all the way through Finals (depending on the match up). MLB is basically April-May then Late July-Through playoffs.
FUCK. They ditched the logo. They may have lost me as a fan! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/01/14/chargers-admit-mistake-ditch-initial-l-a-logo/
