Pacers trade:Guard Jamaal TinsleyForward Mike DunleavyClippers Trade:Guard Shaun LivinsgtonForward Corey MaggetteWhy:The Pacers get rid of an inconsistant point gaurd and a small forward who doesn't fit into the offense very well. In return the Pacers get a pass happy point guard who will be more than willing to dish the ball to JO and all the other scorers on the team without having to get his shots. The Pacers will also get a struggling star player: Maggette who will fit better in a et-up offense where he will be counted on to be the number two option (sometimes #1), a role he desperately wants. The Clippers get rid of a frustrating point guard who they've labeled as an underacheiver. They also get rid of an unhappy forward who feuds with the coaching staff over his role. In return the Clippers get a proven point guard (Tinsley) who will most likely do better in the faster paced western conference. Tinsley can also be the next in line to take over the aging Sam Cassells's starting job - a plan they originally had for Livingston. The Clippers also acquire their coache's son who will be a valuable asset to them as at least a role player and shooter. If anyone is to get the potential out of Mike Dunleavy Jr. it's most likely to be his dad.The line-upsacersg - livingstonsg - magettesf - grangerpf - o'nealc - murphyClippersg - tinsley/cassellsg - mobelysf - thomas/dunleavy jr.pf - brandc - kamanI think it's an excellent trade for both teams. Thoughts?
Not even close. Pacers rape in this deal. Even just Livingston ALONE, I couldn't see the Clippers making this deal. If they wouldn't give him up for Allen Iverson what makes you think they would for two average shmos like Tinsley and Dunleavy? Sorry, no way this would ever happen.
