Melo has a no-trade clause. Only teams I could see him agreeing to go to are CLE, LAC and CHI. While he isn't what he was, the Knicks can't really get value for him for that fact.
Melo will never waive his no-trade clause to come to Portland. If he leaves New York it will be to a comparable city (Los Angeles or Chicago, neither is as good but still) or a contender (only Cavs).
Carmel will leave but not to the Blazers. He hasn't done a whole lot as a knick...makes sense to get rid of him while they can still get something.
If we had Melo on the Blazers no one would ever again talk about how bad Lillard's defense is. #Winning
but....just to play devil's advocate...we would be 25 pts closer in all these shootouts....140-135....Blazers win again!!!! I can see it now!!
This is actually huge. I was thinking Lillard may get snubbed again, but with CP3 out, Lillard should make it easily.
Which is great news. I never wanted us to trade for Melo years ago when he could play BB. Now that he is semi-retired, he makes no sense at all.
76ers have scoring margin of a 56-win team with Embiid on the floor this season. And scoring margin of 11-win team with him off the floor. When Simmons starts playing (possibly after the AS break) the 76ers are going to be scary good. They are one piece away from a contending roster. They have the assets (extra big and draft picks) to get the last piece.
I love Embiid. His reactions are awesome, he's always smiling, asking the crowd to stand up and cheer, such an entertainer and seems to love playing the game so much. Philadelphia fans must love having him there after those grim years. They had to wait two years for him but God was it worth it.
