I think that they will finish considered the fourth best draft class of all time. Behind 1984, 1996, and 2003 (in no order). The class is just so deep and strong up front.
Rarely do you see a top 3 as good as Oden, Wright and Durant. It's much like the 2003 draft with LeBron, Bosh and Carmelo. The depth in the first round is pretty solid. I think Horford will be a top 10 PF in his prime as well (he's my 4th rated prospect in this draft). I'm still not sure about Joakim Noah but he has plenty of talent, I guess it depends on where he's picked. I don't think he should be taken in the top 3 and I guess I could see someone picking him over Horford but I don't like it. Outside the top 5 it gets a little messy. Julian Wright is a nice prospect but does he have the mind set to be a even a #2 option? If your picking in the top 7 you really want a guy with that kind of attitude...but the all-around aspect of his game is what has him so high up...without scoring he can contribute. I think too many people have Thaddeus Young too low, people are making to big of a deal out of his slow start. I think Young has the skills where he shouldn't have to stay another year whereas a guy like Budinger/Thabeet should. In this draft I think any GM that picks Thabeet in the top 10 should be fired. He has so much to learn that it's not worth the high pick, pick a guy that can play right away, Thabeet is at least 2 more years away and will take time like DeSagana Diop did...I've watched Thabeet and I don't like his game at all. Yi Jianlian is a mystery to me. I've watched all his video highlights, I don't know how he will adjust to the NBA game, for an Asian bigman he has impressive athletic ability, most guys his size have stiff legs, he doesn't. Alando Tucker, Aaron Gray, Al Thornton, Corey Brewer and Acie Law are all most likely going to be very solid role players, especially Tucker. He's the most underrated player in this draft (although Acie Law is making a solid case as well). The 2nd round is pretty solid, Jared Dudley could be a steal, he's one of my favorite players to watch in college basketball...he's going to be a guy that just gets the job done...Marc Gasol, Bobby Brown are a couple of sleepers. Rayshawn Terry is another guy that looks good on paper but you wonder about his mindset, will he step up or be another Jawad Williams? Bottom line this is a great draft, too me it depends on Brandan Wright....if he ends up being the Chris Bosh of this class than this will be one of the better in recent memory.

I think the 2003 draft was way too stacked. I dont think 2007 can compete with them, besides, how do we know none of these are going to be busts? Sure there amazing in their respective leagues, but so was Darko Milicic, so we dont know yet.
ya, Darko just plain sucks. Its just too bad that the Pistons messed up big time. I would say that the 2003 draft is stronger then the 2007 draft. There's lots of players that are like Durant right now, and each year there's bound to be a player like him. Greg Oden is special and it's going to be a long time until another great big man comes. Bosh, Lebron, Melo and Wade were all great in their rookie season. And it's going to be tough to match up to them 4 already. I doubt there ever be another draft like 2003.
Class might just be in the top five. There is some depth, but not alot. Oden and Durant will be the faces of the draft, will be superstars but they will be the only peopel with alot of succes.

Brandan Wright or even a guy like Acie Law or Al Horford could surprise you
I'm not going to comment on this one, we don't even know who's entering the draft at this point. For all we know Oden, Durant, and Wright could all stay in school. It's not a sure thing that all three will enter and until we know for sure, I don't think its safe to rank them this highly.
How can anyone be comparing this draft class to any other right now? first off none of these guys have ever stepped a foot onto an NBA court, and its not a 100% done deal that all these guys will come out this year.for the record, the 84 draft class is by far the greatest draft class ever, followed by 96 and 03 is getting closer to 96.
There's no doubt that this class will win both it's rookies v. sophomores challenge games! 2006 was just an average class and 2008 looks nowhere near as strong as 2007.
This is impossible to answer. The top prospects in college basketball right now are freshman, for the most part. In fact, the projected top 3 picks are freshman (Oden/Durant/Wright). So, some of the top projected lotto picks might not even come out. And second of all, WE HAVEN'T SEEN ANY OF THEM PLAY IN THE NBA. Those two things alone make this impossible to actually answer.

Judging by their skills it's pretty easy in my mind to determine that this will be one of the better classes in recent history. Just like 2003 you had that feeling, you didn't have that feeling in 2004 or 2005. This is one of those years.

The kid (heh, I say kid but he looks like a grandpa) has a good head on his shoulders and he wants an education. I mean I know that it would be hard to turn down a guaranteed #1 pick status and all that guaranteed money, but at the same time he knows that will be there next year too (or the year after). I don't know man, even Greg Oden himself doesn't know where he will be in 4 months, but it's a very strong possibility that Oden will stay for another year. You said it's almost 90%, I say it's more 50/50 for Oden.
I think you guys are being swayed by Greg Oden's 'goodness'...Kevin Durant and his mom have been saying the same things Greg Oden has been saying...Greg Oden is going to say all the right things but in the end, the money and chance is too much to turn down. Like I've been saying, he's not going to risk a serious injury...and he knows he can finish up his degree when he's in the NBA.

I know every single underclassmen would say the same exact thing, but I don't know man. Nobody knows. Not you, me, or even Oden. We'll just have to wait and see. Anything anybody says is just pure speculation until we know what's really going down come May.

Some of those players might not have benn that good with Detroit considering they rely on all starters instead of 1. Anyways, We won the 'Ship that year :winkglasses: .
