Re: Detroit's Draft <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Bad BoY RiP 32 @ Mar 21 2007, 09:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I would love to see the Pistons draft Acie Law IV with the pick they get from Orlando this year(unless the way the lottery works the Magic get 1 of the first 2 picks but I don't know if it the pick is protected or not?). Why not draft a prospect like Law IV who is being compared to Billups to be mentored by Billups(depending if he stays or not) to be the Pistons point guard of the future? With the 2nd 1st round pick I think the Pistons should go for a 4 that can also play the 5 because there is no guarantee that Webber will stay. Not to mention that he is not exactly getting any younger and I think Amir is a 4 and unless he gets bigger he won't do good at the 5 spot. If the Pistons do end up getting Law IV I like the direction Joe D is going w/ Amir, Prince and JMax. HoLLa baCk</div>I agree with all of your points. I'd love to have Law on our team. I'd also love Thorton. Both are some of my favorite players in NCAA ball. The only thing though, about Thorton, is that he's a 3/4, and I think we need a 4/5 like Rip said. BTW Rip, Orlando's pick is top 5 protected, so there's only a slim chance we'll lose it.
Re: Detroit's Draft all I know is that wherever the Pistons have their pick, its going to be good with that pick from orlando. they are definitely going to have an opportunity to get a very good player with the depth of this years draft. but we have so many players right now, its hard to see the players that we draft ever having great success with our team.I'll get more excited on who we draft around draft time. right now, its the post-season push for a title with me.

Re: Detroit's Draft Only way we have a chance at Horford is package our 2 1sts and and expiring like Davis. Even then it might won't be enough.
Re: Detroit's Draft <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Combs @ Mar 26 2007, 01:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>There is no way we can get Horford...</div>Then any big man, this year's draft is one of the deepest ever. If Durant and Oden enter the draft, then everyone gets pushed down the board which gives us a better shot at getting a better player with our pick.
Re: Detroit's Draft Still, Horford? Fat chance.I'll be honest, I don't want Hibbert, but I do want Jeff Green. But Acie Law IV comes first on my list.
Re: Detroit's Draft I really like Roy Hibbert, he would be very nice I think. I'm sure Horford will get picked before we come up to pick. he should be able to prove something in the Final 4 and the workouts.
Re: Detroit's Draft I would be really happy if we could land Law with our first pick. With our second first-rounder I would like to see Aaron Gray drop down for us. I think he might be there. 7 footer with decent footwork, big body, can shoot around the 12-14 foot mark. Defense is a concern, but I have no problem believing that he could learn to play very solid defense with the experienced bigs we have now. I think there is a good chance that our draft works out like this. And if it does, I will be happy. If someone else drops for us, take them. But these two guys could very easily fit into the team and contribute next year.

Many teams see alot of potential in Hibbert.
Re: Detroit's Draft With our 2nd first rounder who ya guys lookin at?I want Affalo, Rush or McRoberts(assumining we draft a small first).
Re: Detroit's Draft I think a combo guard or a baackup wing wouold do good. Hunter is getting olderand better to get a nice young PG. Magics pic is like 15 or 16? If Marcus Williams avail pick him along with Conley.
Re: Detroit's Draft <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Combs @ Apr 10 2007, 09:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Yeah I think Hibbert will be picked in the top 5 personally.</div>Hes not even coming out but Yeah next year I can see him being top 5 easily.

He's an easy mid-lotto pick, could go even higher. His stock is very high right now, so what makes you say that?
Re: Detroit's Draft His stock seems lower then it should be tho so I'd see why he'd consider staying..but it doesn;t really matter. He should come out.I think he's the 3rd best player in the draft.
Re: Detroit's Draft Nooooo, Hibbert isn't the third best in the draft. He isn't even the best prospect from his team.I don't want Hibbert, give me Mike Conley, if he comes out, or Acie Law with our first pick. Second pick, Afflalo or Rush. I like Aaron Gray too, he's a possibility. On NBAdraft.net, Glen Davis is a pick above our second rounder. I love Big Baby, perhaps he could come to Motown. I really see his stock rising though.
Re: Detroit's Draft Conley won't fall to his. He's a top 10 pick if eh comes out. I don't want to see us get Glen Davis, how is he any different from Jason Maxiell? I'd rather see us go guard with this pick.
Re: Detroit's Draft Whoa, check this out.http://nbadraft.net/2003draftnotes.aspIt says we got a first rounder from Sacramento in the Mateen Cleaves trade. We're supposed to get it from 2005-2008. And to my knowledge we never recieved it. Does that mean we have their pick next year? And according to this, we're supposed to get Milwaukee's pick sometime.(lottery protected)http://www.realgm.com/src_future_picks.phpAnyone have any info on this or anything?
