I like 'em and I feel I should watch more. If you watch them is there one in particular that really had an effect on you? Share!
I recommend The Act of Killing. It's kind of chilling how normal people can seem as they describe the many ways they have slaughtered people pretty much with their bare hands.
On a lighter note, Anvil! The Story of Anvil is like Spinal Tap only actually true. It's very endearing and funny.
Loved it, but was disappointing when I heard the facts they left out. I thought documentaries were supposed to be legit.
@Rastapopoulos have you seen Local Color about Oregon's history? It's an old documentary, but I have seen it a number of times. www.pbs.org/black-culture/shows/list/local-color/
Re: Making a Murderer - what's happening with the nephew? I heard that he was pardoned (or something) but that his release was being blocked? Whatever you think of the main guy, that kid was totally stitched up.
I think the state had a time limit to respond to his appeal and if they didn't he would be let go, and they waited til the last second I think. That is what I remember reading a couple months ago. So I think it is in another appeal process. Yeah, I think the kid got a raw deal. At a minimum, deserved another trial.
I've been watching that series Leah Remini is doing on Scientology. I remember when those book stores were all over the place and ads for "Dianetics" were on TV.
Here's one for you. Up for Grabs. It's about the litigation over ownership of Barry Bonds homerun ball. It's actually a pretty interesting tale with interesting "characters."
"Stretch and Bobbito" was a cool one I saw on Netflix about underground hip-hop and the radio station that brought it to the mainstream in the 90's. A lot of rap legends make appearances.
