we hope eh.....nobody slips cash into anybody's pocket's...no perks...no buying of influence....only what is traceable through banks if you can read the language they're written in.
If they pay standard rate, I don't see the issue. If they pay 10x normal rate, rent whole floors that the never used to, etc., run up abnormally large bills, then there's a red flag.
I don't think the guy wants to risk prison. He makes more in the private sector without having to do something obviously illegal. A person's former employer shouldn't disqualify him or her from public service.
People horrified this went public demanding useless information be made public. Sound reasoning there.
People are gonna believe what they wanna. Facts are there but people don't wanna find them. Too many people saying dumb shit. This is a 7 page thread about Trumps tax returns. It's gonna be 4 years of people bitching over this dude whether he does good, alright, or terrible. Crazy though that Hillary can delete emails and do all this crazy shit and shes the angel of the media and to people that live in the cities. Whatever, the world keeps spinning
Another thing, can we put the bitching about wikileaks aside? they have never been proven wrong and just because they put out emails against hillary never meant they were for trump as shown by them calling for tax returns. No russians. Leaks. Media says otherwise though. So will the people. Citing their sources as the CIA and FBI. Oh yeah the most corrupt agencies of all. You mean the people that tried to smear MLK? Malcolm x? mandela? crack epidemic done by them and whatever other shady bullshit has been pulled. Society is fucked man.
No, it's not what you thought. I've never cared before and certainly never actually read anyone else's tax returns. I can barely stand to even read mine after paying to have them done. They really don't hold any information of value to anyone but the IRS, have never been something that was required to be released by anyone to the public for any reason of any kind. Obviously, if there was a smidgeon of wrongdoing evidenced in them the IRS would have come down on him like a ton of bricks. In fact, and rightly so, Federal Law guarantees their privacy. Washington and the rest of the Founding Fathers categorically refused to pay taxes, let alone publish them. They actually created a new country to avoid paying them. There's a very colorful story here about a tea party and gobs of patriots dying for your freedom, which you've pissed on by paying taxes, but we'll save that for when there's more time. It's an important story and should not be learned in abbreviated form. Later after Lincoln illegally imposed taxes to fund the not-so-civil war, it was repealed ten years later. Congress tried to bring it back in 1894 but The Supreme Court declared taxation itself unConstitutional in 1895. It wasn't until 1913 that the 16th Amendment gave Congress the power to enact an income tax with 1/4th of the states still opposed. The original 1% rate has climbed as high as 77% and fallen nearly as much at times over the years. In the 50's it went from being run with no cost to morphing into a behemoth of highly-paid representatives from the banking industry with the dual goals of keeping the poor perpetually in debt, and punishing rich political opponents of whatever party was in power at the time. Since that time it has always been the most corrupt arm of the government, and the largest single threat to individual freedom since, well, the Brits. So anyone who can avoid paying taxes is quite obviously a patriot and a defender of your freedom, even though you clearly don't want freedom.
Except we don't know if that's the reason why he won't release his taxes. After those old taxes were released and showed he wasn't paying much taxes he was still elected president. It seems unlikely that would be his reason not to release his current taxes.
