Love how in a night full of surprised Spurs just typically hammered Nets by 20+. They don't do that shit, do they.
SAS is such a tightly run ship, even on nights when they rest their three best players, they can, and do, hang with anyone. BNM

Sick burn bro. So should players get technicals when they do the hand signals for traveling, or jump ball, or double dribble, or anything else?
I put my 10,000+ hours in refereeing. I know what's sportsmanlike and what's not and what deserves a technical foul and what doesn't. Don't ask stupid questions. But since you clearly don't understand, I'll explain it. What Muiday (sp?) was doing was taunting. Taunting is: Completely unnecessary and avoidable. Bush league. Unsportsmanlike. And yes, I woulda wacked his ass for that unsportsmanlike display.
In the West Linn gym there's a sign that should be in every gym nationwide. It says: KNOW YOUR ROLE Spectator Player Coach Referee So, since I don't ever need to tell coaches and players when to call motion or a pick and roll, I don't need to be told when to call a foul or traveling. I'm versed and knowledgeable. When coaches/kids do what's bolded, first I'll sarcastically thank them for their help while making it completely obvious I don't need it with a smile and eye contact. If it continues I'll come down and tell a coach: "Hey call motion next play" Then smile again. By then they usually get it and tell their kids wassup. If it goes any further I'll ask the player/coach what their role is. Because doing what's bolded is unsportsmanlike. It's not tech worthy, but it's irritating as fuck because if you let it continue it becomes them yelling for a call at the top of their lungs. So you hafta nip that shit in the bud quick or it'll get outta hand. And THEN you may end up having to give a warning and assess a tech for more obvious reasons. Now that's from college on down. NBA players would obviously get more leeway. You probably won't say anything to an NBAer for mimicking a traveling signal. Buuuuut.... What Muiday did was at a time when punishment was being handed out in the form of an ejection. You've gotten what you want. No need to taunt in a situation like that.
Agreed 100% with everything you said. I don't believe I asked your opinion about it at that time, so since you brought up taunting here: In the game against SAC where Cousins received a second technical and ejection for spitting his mouthpiece at the Blazers bench, should that second technical have been rescinded because spitting out the mouthpiece was considered "accidental"? To me, even if the mouthpiece had not come out, he should have received a 2nd technical and ejection. Regardless of the final resting place of his mouthpiece, that was clearly taunting. The mouthpiece was collateral damage that occurred during the act of taunting. To me, the rescinding of the second technical was one of the biggest bullshit calls I've seen all season. Cousins even knew he deserved the second tech. He's one of the biggest complainers in the league, but when he got that second technical, he didn't make a peep about it. He sprinted off the court toward the locker room and had to be brought back to the court after the refs "reconsidered" the call on the floor. BNM
I don't see a difference between calling and-1 doing the traveling sign, saying it went out off the other team, doing the ejection sign, etc. I think it's usually annoying when anyone does any of that. And I would be super annoyed if I was reffing. But idk how this is any worse/different than what goes on during the entire game.
According to Joe Dumars, John Nash et al wanted Billups and Ben Wallace in exchange for Sheed. Apparently Dumars was after Sheed from the beginning of that season and was rebuffed every time by Portland. We then traded him to ATL for Abdur-Rahim and Ratliff, and Billy Knight gave up Sheed to DET two days later for two first round picks. https://art19.com/shows/vertical/episodes/dea197c2-d072-4a8a-bc2f-3b05c2dbc316
i wish they would get stricter with the rules and the ref's could stop all the bitching and moaning on the court.
I disagree. Taunting is not the same as lobbying (aka: bitching) for a call. Taunting is directed at your opponent, not the officials. Mudiay's gesture symbolically T-ed up an opposing coach. BNM
