Right off the bat, I see them losing 2 out of 3 in that dump they call Tropicana Field.

Can never stand watching a game that takes place in that horrible stadium.

Saw that schedule a couple days ago. At last check I made there are only 37 seats left for that three game Yankees Rays tickets from $80.00 up to a couple hundred. A real shithole that place.

Tropicana: fond memories of Billy Ed Wheeler singing that line "I would hum a happy tine peeking through that quarter moon". Best thing for the Rays, move to Charlotte!!

...^^^ agreed...and considering the special "ground rules" applied to The Trop and that damned white roof which is a terrible background when trying to track a fly ball, and that horrible artificial turf, plus the fact that the Rays home attendance figures are the worst in MLB, the stadium should be outlawed and torn down and find a more suitable place for the franchise to play.

There have been many talks about new park placement but I think St Pete is going to be like the dog on a mail man's leg. Last summer they had a "Love fest" come out and support the Rays, all propaganda and hoopla and over a two series span they drew an extra 2 K spread. Other than the Yankees and Red Sox it's pretty easy to get a seat over there if one wishes to see teams not normally seen.

I had no clue The Georgia Dome is slated for demolition in Mar. 017; giving way for the new Merc-Benz Stadium. Both the GA Dome and the Trop are "stayed bridge supported" in design.

The GA Dome opened 2 yrs after the Trop, and will be replaced by the Merc-Benz stadium, supposedly in 017, but may be delayed until 018?

Both stadiums have had problems beset by weather, yet why can't Fla build a new state of the art/decent- Tampa/St. Pete stadium, nearer to its masses, when GA. taxpayers are building a newer/better stadium.....? Tho' the existing GA Dome is a great looking venue, supposedly plagued by some design issues??? We all know the Trop isn't a good looking venue, and has been also plagued with issues that are a result of its design/ and overall poor planning; as it relates with incremental weather probs...and comfort for fans, especially a stadium with proper environmental control systems. NTM- it was one helluva horrid Hockey Stadium, biggest hockey stadium in all NHL, until the Panther's could find a better suited home...

With Seattle, Montreal, unable to sale more than 5K tickets, during week day games in the mid 80's; fans could sit damn near anywhere during that era, making for a great seat for a game, with few fans in attendance. Personally, it doesn't matter to me, if there are 100 fans or 100,000 during a game. Sure the fans make for a loud, festive atmosphere, but they don't effect the outcome of games

^^^Yeah, relatively speaking, the Georgia dome is not that old (built in 1992) but the location has always been a issue. I also remember that the few times I've been there, parking was also a problem too.
