That if you miss the all-star game you also have to miss a certain number of games after to ensure that people don't just try to get out of it? Because with Nash's injury, I'm hoping he could take the all-star break to get some rest but if that rule is in place it would really hurt the Suns.
Umm..I doubt it..I don't think they would create rules to cost teams games just to make it look like players aren't trying to get out of the game..some players simply just want to rest all star weekend because it doesn't really count for anything
Yes, there is a rule similar to that. I know Allen Iverson also said he'd rather sit out the ASG and heal up, but the rules are as follows (paraphrasing here):If you are healthy enough to play for your team, you must play in the ASG. If you feel you are not healthy enough to play in the ASG, you can't be playing for your team the game before, etc., and the league needs some sort of written notification from the team doctor or what not. Also, even if you are injured and unable to play in the ASG (Yao and Boozer for example), you are still required to make the trip to the ASG and make the normal appearances, go to practice, etc.I know the league is currently monitoring Iverson's situation, and if he is deemed healthy enough to participate, he will be forced to participate (but I'm sure he won't play too much). Same will probably go with Nash.
Okay, that's not bad I guess. I heard that player would have to miss 5 games so it's good that it's not true.

Either way, I doubt Avery Johnson (he is the WC coach, right?) would play anybody who was injured heavy minutes... unless he wanted to screw PHX and Denver over.

Can't be the coach twice in a row.
