I've seen this before. Good post. A lot of shooters rest the ball on their palm and transfer it to their fingertips and off when they small their wrist (Steph Curry does it). However, Dame takes his fingertips off the ball, which I feel like might be hurting his consistency. However, trying to fix it could make him shoot worse. It's something he needs to take a look at next summer.
I think Dames mechanics are just fine. It's his shot selection that is broken. He tends to 'Glide' to the side coming off of screens when he shoots. Anyone who's shot a basketball knows how much this increases the difficulty of the shot. He needs to work on picking better times to shoot (not with a defender right up in his grille), and to go straight up and squared for his shot - rather than floating sideways when he shoots. IMO that would go a long way to improving his percentages as a shooter.
...yeah I remember this from years ago, there is probably a thread specifically about this same critique somewhere in the archives. Would be curious to know if this is still happening with his shot or if he has improved his mechanics in any way since 2014.
