    Doesn't matter at all.

If Trump or any of his administration want to use private email, it doesn't matter, either. As long as it isn't used for government business, particularly the transmission of classified information to persons without clearance.

The president is a special case. Clinton demanded to use her blackberry or iPhone, the government refused. Obama wanted the same and they spent whatever it took to get him a blessed blackberry. Plus if the president can't declassify information, it's a scary government we'd have.

Bush/Cheney HAD to use private servers for campaign purposes, as does the RNC. It's the law. Government resources not to be used for campaigning.

That they mixed government business and campaign use is their violation of the same laws Clinton was. However, the Bush/Cheney folks were aware of the presidential records act and intended (but failed) to preserve all the required emails. Nobody exclusively used the RNC server for government business. They got in a world of shit over it. Democrats prosecuted it as far as they could.

Clinton had 20-20 hindsight about this and chose to violate the law much beyond what republicans did. They had no intention of obeying the presidential records act until years later when the Benghazi committee subpoenaed all emails regarding Benghazi and the administration then asked her to cough up the records. She did 100% of government business on private email. None of it to avoid campaign law violations.
