According to this, there are really only two players in the league with a no-trade clause. http://www.foxsports.com/nba/gallery/nba-players-with-no-trade-clause-2016-080216 He is a guy who is already skipping practices because of his age. Not sure why he wouldn't be willing to accept somewhat limited minutes on a team that should be pretty good.
He played his entire career with Miami, then signed with his hometown team to finish out his career. I don't think he wants to go anywhere else, and NO could have signed him with cap space over the summer if it made sense.
So now we reached the point that not only we don't give up CJ or Dame, but we also have the luxury to bring CJ along with a 1481368943 All Star and 3 times champion off the bench! Man if we keep this thread alive I think in 2 days we'll also have Gobert at the 5 because don't forget we also need a defensive anchor!
OK, I'll send him back to Miami, for 29 year old Ellington, Haslem, McRoberts and Derrick Williams. That will fill out our roster after gutting it and get rid of some garbage that Miami has.
in fact I'll do like bones-jones and wrap them all up together. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=htfx3f8
Aim lower and more realistic. Taj Gibson is likely available, and he won't cost CJ or Dame. The guy is the rim protector we need, and is a superb defender. He's blocking 1.3 shots per 36 minutes, and has about the best DRtg on the Bulls. He can switch onto PGs at the perimeter, no problem. He's very good on the offensive boards, which is great if you have jump shooters in the lineup. He can play PF and C. He sets picks and has a nice outside shot out to about 17'. He knows how to score in the lane. The downside is he's 31. I do think he can play several more years, though. His contract is about $9M, and expires at the end of the season. For this reason, they'd have no interest in Ezeli. Bulls are over the cap, so they can't take back a ton of salary in the trade.
Agreed. Dame straight up for Butler. Only a small drop-off in offensive prowess. Butler scores just 2 points less per game - though Butler has higher shooting %, higher 3pt % & fewer turnovers. But a MASSIVE improvement in defense. Run CJ, Butler, Turner backcourt. CJ and Turner run point by committee.
Ordinarily, I'd say Chicago never considers that. But maybe if they're really desperate to move on from him, they'd be willing to take the downgrade to get a different star.
There's only 3 teams. You need to add another team. There's also too few players. You need to add more!!! Haha.
For all this talk about Butler being a great defender, his DBPM has been continuously under 0.5 for years. So basically, average. Why do people think he's such a great defender? I don't really understand.
People also think DMC is a great defender. People also thought McMuffin was a good defensive coach. People also think Tater Totts is an offensive genius. People also think a border wall will improve national security. Facts mean nothing - if you say anything enough times it becomes an alternative fact.
