<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The New Jersey Nets are seriously considering a deal that would send All-Star point guard Jason Kidd to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers have offered two first-round draft picks and several expiring contracts, in return. Chris Mihm, Aaron McKie and Jordan Farmar have been mentioned, as has center Kwame Brown. Nets' center Jason Collins could also be involved.</div>PLEASE DO THIS!!!Oh, source.
Wow, this would really put the Lakers as a top contender in the West IMO. This is the position that they are the weakest at in their starting lineup when everyone is healthy, and a guy like Kidd would really help Kobe. This team would be scary.....Especially since they dont have to give up Bynum. I dont think they would trade him anyways...
Yeah, Farmar is a fine price to pay for JKidd, also it's a kind of plus that we get rid of McKie and Mihm. Both are big injury magnets.I'm pretty excited for this.
If they could acquire Kidd man this team would be dangerous and would be right up there with Utah, Dallas, Phoneix, and San Antonio. Smush Parker just isn't want they need in the pg position as he is much more of a scorer than passer and is only averaging 2.3 assists per game. If they brought in Kidd this would take a lot of pressure off Kobe as they are bringing in a guy who is capable of a triple double any night and is a good scorer.
Wow Kidd and Kobe together equals pure domination. The Lakers would probably have the best perimeter defense in the league if they get Kidd.
I like this trade. The Lakers could be a better team and kidd is also a great offensive player. He can help take off the load from Kobe in the 4th quarter. He's also made many big shots for his team to win as well throughout his career. But it would suck to have 2 of the best PGs in the league to be in the Western Division. But this could also help Lakers probably win another title before Phil decides to retire again.
the rumors are coolin off now...Nets president Rod Thorn is keeping his options open as the trade deadline approaches and many of his players are being mentioned in rumors, but as of Sunday afternoon, he didn't have many options to consider. "I don't see anything out there right now," Thorn said while his team enjoyed a day off. Thorn said he will operate as he normally does as the deadline nears. He's listening to all offers and isn't ruling anything out. But he likely would have to be blown away by an offer in order to pull the trigger on a deal that would send either Carter or Kidd packing. One local report yesterday suggested the Nets and Lakers are mulling a deal that would send Kidd to L.A. in exchange for a package of young players. But Kidd's name coming up in talks between the teams doesn't mean anything is imminent. Like Carter, Kidd's name is often mentioned in talks because he's a player teams would love to have. "Those guys are really good players," Thorn said. "If something comes up that really makes sense then you'd do it. But I've never said that I wouldn't trade anybody if something came up that made sense."http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/446...taying_for_now/
Jaron Collins too! wow!!!!McKie and Mihm are worthless to us right now...Kwame, eh we got Bynums...2 first rounder, wont matter because they gonna be number 30 overall!!!!WHOOOOO LAKERS ANOTHER DYNASTY RUN!!!
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/No...d?urn=nba,24264It still may happen though... I still have some hope!
Hopefully this deal DOESN'T go down, and the Cavaliers throw down a better offer.Kidd would clearly make both teams better, thats the main reason the Cavaliers need em!PG-KiddSG-HughesSF-JamesPF-GoodenC-ZScary...
Not only will he play defense but Kobe will take better shots with Kidd playing point. Kidd makes good choices and would with Kobe and Odom getting good looks is better than the looks they get now.

Any more discussion on this trade ?If it goes down...The lakers would be "material"I like Farmar though...But Kidd>Farmar
As a Nets fan and NJ native, I seriously hope this doesn't happen. As a member in this topic said, if Kidd goes it means NJ starts its looonnnnnnggggg rebuilding phase, and this would be the last year while still in NJ that they would be a playoff team. But if he was to be traded, I'd love to see him with the Lakers. Takes all of the playmaking stress off of Kobe, and allows him to be a pure scorer like MJ was in the Bulls system. When kidd is on the bench lamar can take the reigns. Getting Kidd instantly makes them a tougher team, a great fastbreak team, a fantastic perimeter defense, great leadership, another player to go to in clutch, and overall just a much better team. Also makes you guys a true contender.
