That's PATHETIC. They fire coaches wayyy too soon these days just because of fans who were pissed about them not going to the super bowl.

Not looking good for the Chargers...first they lose both their OC and DC now their head coach. Yikes.

You guys don't see this? He's a joke in the playoffs, and well, if you can't win in the playoffs, you're basically a waste. The point is to win the Super Bowl, and if you can't even get there, you have no use.

I wouldve given him another season or two since he did leasd them to the best record but it will be interesting to see how the CHargers do this year with basically a whole new coaching staff.

He didnt play that game to win, he played it not to lose. As much as I hate the Chargers and San Diego after all the bullsh** they pulled this year with the tickets and the smack talk, etc, I can safely say that Marty's pathetic play calling blew it for them. They ran on the majority of first downsm played way too conservatively, etc.

The players still have to play, and I don't think that loss should be heavily blammed on Marty's shoulders as oppose to the players.

He's always had trouble dealing with San Diego's management...it's been pretty ugly....The guy just plays too conservative and it's probably a good move long term. This is a very young team with elite talent all over the place (LT, Merriman, Castillo, Cromartie, Edwards, Olshansky, Williams, Gates, McNeal, Rivers...)

I'm not surprised by this. Time to get a better coach, and one that works with the management and can work with what they bring in.

Its going to be hard to get a better coach than Marty. I bet the players were pissed because hes a players coach. Sucks for guys like Marty, I think they did this behind his back. Like it wasnt expected or something.Anyone know anything about the canidates? I bet you Jim Mora Jr. is a possibility, I really like him hopefully he gets the job, if he is a cannidate.

IMO, this team is underperforming in the playoffs, and Marty doesn't have the best playoff history. I think that he is a good coach personally, but when teams are underperforming, change is necessary.

the team lost a game in the first round now granted I think they were underperforming but why not give Marty next year to try it again. Marty had a young defense, and a young QB who had never been to the post season as a starter. I just dont agree with the firing...If they would of went 14-2 next year and lost in the first round in the playoffs then fire him.
