It seems to me that part of the problem relates to what would normally be a good instinct at the start of the game: Lillard wanting to get his teammates involved offensively early in the games. Unfortunately, other than CJ, his teammates suck offensively.
Denver especially. Pulling Jokic out of the weeds was amazing. He was drafted 33 picks after Noah and 18 after Shabazz.
In fairness to the new broadcast crew....how would you like to have your rookie season be drumming up excitement for this team? They didn't inherit a team with a real identity to latch onto.
Level of my interest this season definitely went over board. I went crazy few times I put my emotions in a team I'll probably never see live. In a team that I don't have time to follow anyway from here. Till now I was proud to be a Blazers fan, cos here, in Europe, there were always lots of Bulls, then Fakers and now Cavs hype, so I was part of something special. But I found myself behaving like a teenager and it's just plain stupid. No one seems to care. Coach is happy with his suits, Dame with shoes and raps and players and Neil with their millions. Even official Fb team think this season is fun and they put Mayers Leonard pics all over the place. This team has low mentality from top to bottom at the moment BTW Serious question: If we tanking, what is the procedure? Neil talking to Stotts and Dame, that they have to fuk things up intentionally? Or is it all team effort? Lillard obviously is playing like halfLillard. Could this be the reason?
Ever watch Dame play defense 80 percent time he gives up with the pick and roll. The way he play D in the Dallas game was totally not acceptable in my mind.
No, players are never going to intentionally play worse to further some franchise-level goal of a better draft pick. Their careers, their salaries, their reputations depend on their performance. You "tank" by either trading away players who help you win or by playing worse (generally younger) players more minutes.
I didn't realize prostitution had become so affordable. Not me. I love a competitive loss and only gripe when we piss one away with an unexpected good effort and win. They're auditioning for their next gig.
Except for the fact that that was the modus operandi when we were trying to win games the past few seasons.
Everything feels different. Did last season even happen? it's amazing how little some of these players try when they get paid. Crabbe being one. I was actually in favor of resigning Crabbe but my fucking god he is so inconsistent. Saw a stat that he only has had like 10 plus point games in the single digits out of the 50 games we have played. It's Dame and CJ out there with scrubs. Get them some guys to play with and actually win. Stop the infatuation with this shit player in Meyers. Should of never resigned his ass. This organization is starting to feel pretty shady. Love being a fan. Love the atmosphere in Portland about them and the fans but man this team is sensitive. Neil Olshey needs to go. Tired of his shit lies. We almost got stuck with Chandler fucking Parsons and that poison contract so then we offer more than we needed for ET which whatever he is playing better now but he aint worth that much. What happened to Harkless recently? Davis? Aminu? this team is absolutely awful, I don't know why I bother watching games anymore but I do
I still watch every single game that I can and if I miss it for some reason I DVR it. There;s only been 1-2 games this year that I haven't watched and that usually happens when I DVR road games that start early and if we get shellacked my wife will tell me the final score so I get to save 2 hours. While I watch all the games, I'm definitely not as excited for game day as I was this time last year. It really sucks hoping the outcome of a game is a loss so that you improve your Draft Lottery standings, but it's probably best for the team in the long run and really will any of us remember games from this season 2-3 years down the line? How many games do you recall from the 2012-13 season where we lost 13 straight which put us in 10th position to take CJ? I remember very little of that and considering the pay off, it was well worth it so I'm doing my best to power through this season and just hope for a spectacular play or two from Dame and CJ and improvement from guys like Noah, Moe, and AC.
I finally pulled the plug on PSVue the other day. I only got it (mostly) to watch the Blazers on CSN and think I passed my own personal Mendoza line for repetitive, lackluster play with Dallas the other night. Offhand what did me in? Stotts has one guy who seems to hoover up rebounds when he's in (Vonleh). Team is getting eaten alive on the glass, so of course he's banished to the bench. Our guards getting murdered on pick and rolls for the umpteenth time, with no end in sight. Team falls into another giant hole at the start of a game and then does the inevitable "spend too much energy, don't have enough to finish" thing that you see so often in those kinds of games. Bad body-language, defeatist attitude almost palpable through the screen. Olshey's bullshit: the shenanigans around firing of Ropp from CSN, and the crap job he did pushing all of his chips in on a roster that looked like it was more lucky than good last year. wash, rinse, repeat. So, I'm still a "fan" (more of an "enthusiast" perhaps?) and I'll watch KGW games when it's on, and maybe pick up a radio broadcast or two, but I think I've seen enough at this point. I should be spending more time reading, working in my wood shop, and doing things that actually give me joy. Right now, watching this team has all of the entertainment value of the banal HR safety videos my employer makes us watch once a year. If something changes at the trade deadline maybe my interest will perk up?
