I only watch because of CJ, he's a magnificent baller. Lillard use to be fun to watch, but right now his playstyle is just too weird.
It's hard to even get excited about the prospects of a turn around, even.... since the only thing we get if we do end up winning is facing the warriors. Whoo?
While this season may disappoint, by the Blazers I still live and die, though. So for the last month and a half, I've been nearly suicidal. That's my submission for Two-Bar Tuesday.
I either catch the 4th quarter, or look at the score afterward and watch the second half of the ones we win. This team really feels like it's a stopgap. We're going to miss the playoffs (or at best get spanked by GS). Then trade one of CJ or Dame (probably CJ for PR reasons) over the summer, and the new star + roster overhaul + draft picks will make it a totally different team next year. Seems like the die is cast and there isn't that much drama left in the next six months, so it's hard to get excited about watching entire games.
My interest in the Blazers has recently increased. I am now ready to become far more active. Where would the best place be to stand with my sign protesting Olshey??
He makes replica pallets. Amazing attention to detail, you would be hard pressed to tell his replicas from the real deal.
I would guess most fans already get the message, plus getting between them and a bar is dangerous. The media get the message, but are under strict gag rules. Let's go after the problem and mess up Olshey's hair!
Then hang out in front of the Blazers practice facility with your sign. Olshey, coaches and players will see it and as long as you're not on Blazer property they can't have you removed.
I've been teaching myself fine carpentry -- bookcases and such, as for reading it's all kinds of stuff. Lately it's been a mix of old weird fiction (Ambrose Bierce and Clark Ashton Smith) and history stuff.
Awesome! I've not gotten into any woodworking yet, but would like to. I've been meaning to try my hand at making a wood speaker cabinet. But I've been relearning how to weld lately - mostly for sculpture, but am hoping to make some furniture as well.
This team has made me a little cynical. I was at a work outing last night so I only saw the box score (watched the replay once I got home) and heard CJ hit the game winner. While I was happy CJ hit a big time shot, I was pretty ticked off we won that game. Why? Because they needed to win the game on Friday for this one to matter much. Time is running out and even if OKC goes .500, Portland must go something absorb like 22-7 (.758!!!!!) the rest of the way ... only the Warriors and Spurs (barely) are playing at that pace. In other words, it ain't happening. And I've gotta tell you, I have no desire to watch a playoff series against the Warriors.
