I would say this would be a valid concern if this crime happened in a liberal state that supports sanctuary cities (while Austin is in the process to become a sanctuary city the GOP controlled state government is currently taking steps to outlaw that.) and there was a complete omission of the past history connected to the ID that was found on the suspect.
