Philly was healthy and the hottest team in the NBA. That's when changed lineup. Nearly won the game.

I love when we nearly win the game! It means we lost!

That was a terrific game if you weren't a fan of either team. Last minute was nuts.

This team is just incapable of consistently putting out defensive effort. You're up 16 in the first half -- they're shooting < 40%. Stomp on that team and end the game in the third quarter. But yet again, we lose the lead.

CJ was amazing. His performance in the last minute doesn't happen unless Dame is out there getting trapped and doubled every time down. That was a perfect look at how these guys help each other on offense.

But our record would be much better if we counted 'basically wins'.

I would actually feel better about some of those losses if we had 'nearly won'. Getting blown out by crappy teams makes us a crappy team.

This how bad officiating was on that play CJ got foul 3 or foul by to guys before he made that shot. He should have won at the line. Silvers need to grow a pair and start fining these official for being so bad. No wonder these players and coaches go ape shit on these officials. So I here the official getting tire of it but when you suck you need get yell at.

This happens all the time in the NBA, teams go on runs. Being up 16 at half really doesn't mean much especially if you're the road team.

Sure, runs do happen - but we consistently blow double digit leads - and often in a hurry. There used to be a time when we would win games by more than 10 - I'm not sure that's happened more than 4-5 times this season. We gave up a 13-0 run up by 12 with 7 minutes left. That's ridiculous.

Especially if you're the Blazers this year you mean. How many games have we lost this year after being up by double digits?

Opera Singer. Horse Trainer. Blazer fan.

But all that really matters is that she's someone who had a couple clever tweets that related to the post to which I replied.

And then add to that how many times we've been down double-digits within 5 minutes of tip-off.
This team is pathetically coached, constructed, and managed.

    It's the defense.

This team just goes through lulls of effort. The only guy who consistently plays hard is Mason. Rest of the guys don't play hard on every possession.

Wasn't like this before this year.

I agree with you, but it's not just the defense. The offense is awful. All we do is jack up long jumpers - often contested jumpers. When they aren't going in we just continue doing the same damn thing hoping that eventually they'll start going in. That's often how we put ourselves in a big early hole - we come out, miss 5 long jumpers leading to easy transition baskets for the other team and in the blink of an eye we're down 10-15 points.

Maybe it was like in soccer; play on because you have the advantage; i.e. you have a clear path to the basket. :)

She should train a horse to sing opera at a Blazer game.

Agree to an extent. That third quarter was baffling. Dame and CJ were chucking nonstop from outside when they had Barnes and Dirk protecting the rim. Was angry when Terry just let the team bleed.
