Why is that? Paul is definately more skilled. He is quicker, and he can hit the mid range jumpers easily, and he is the superior passer and scorer while Deron's got the outside shot. They both fit into their respective offenses very well, but in terms of skills, I would definately take Chris Paul.

Chris Paul is one of the best point guard defenders in the league as of right now, he is just as good of a passer if not better, he is better at getting to the basket, and he is the sole leader of that team in New Orleans. Deron Williams has so many players on his team that make him look better. I can respect you saying that Deron Williams is a little better, but how is he obvioulsy the better player, and why is everyone saying that Deron is definitely the better leader?

I'd take Deron because I feel he's a better leader and makes the players around him better as well, which is what a point guard is supposed to do. Statswise the two are very similar with Paul slightly leading in ppg and Deron slightly leading in apg. However, Deron has greatly helped the development of his big men and led his team to a lot more wins. Carlos Boozer is averaging 20+ for the first time in his career and Mehmet Okur's ppg jumped up 6 points in Deron's first season with the Jazz. Deron has led his team to divison title and has stepped up when his teammates have gone down for short stretches of time, while Paul's injury-riddled Hornets are in for yet another lottery pick. Both are very good players and I feel the seperation between the two is pretty small, but personally I'd take Deron.

You can't really look at their teams' records and say who has led their team to more victories because of all of the Hornets' injuries. Yeah, the Jazz have had a few injuries, but not nearly as many as the Hornets. Peja, CP3, Bobby Jackson, David West, Desmond Mason, and Tyson Chandler have all been injured this year and currently Peja, Mason, and Chandler are all not playing due to injury. Chris is also suffering from an injured thumb and pinky, foot and hip, but is still pushing for the Hornets' a spot in the playoffs. Chris has also been a huge factor in the development of David West (getting him to near all-star level while West is posting career highs) like Deron has with his big men.Deron is good, don't get me wrong, but I'll take Chris on this one.

Deron had 28/10 and helped Mehmet Okur to put up 30. I can see why someone would take Paul, it's pretty close between the two after all, but I don't like how people say that it's obviously or easily Paul.
