Which player would you rather have on your roster in the future?I can't pick a specific player on this one, If I want to run a fast paced offense without a ton of plays being used, I would take Bargnani. If I ran a slow paced offense, and set up in the half court I would take Andrew Bogut. It really depends on what your looking for on your team, their two completely different players.
Im a big fan of Bogut from his college days, but the NBA is moving towards big men with handles, can put the ball on the floor, and shoot. For that, I have to go with Bargs in the future.
I don't think Andrea Bargnani's style of play is more valuable really..and I don't really believe the NBA is moving in a direction where bigmen have to handle the ball, shoot and drive....Bargnani can score, shoot and handle the ball, run the floor...Bogut can handle the ball, pass, run the floor, pass, score in the post...depends on what you want, they are hard to compare since Bargnani is so inexperienced.
Bargnani hasnt really even had enough time at the Center position. He is playing SF right now and developing into a Center of the future. They are both some of the best passing big men in the game right now.
Bargnani is only a rookie and Andrew Bogut is clearly more developed right now in his career but Bargnani has a lot of potential for the future but so does Bogut. They are both good passing big guys but I would like Bogut in the future. He should be capable of about 18 and 10 later in his career.
I think that Bargnani will end up being the better player. He has alot of range, and he is pretty quick for his size as well. From what I have seen of him as of late, I have liked. I think Bogut is better right now, but I think Bargnani will be better in the future.
this is a tough comparison, but im going with Bargnani. They'll both very young and can soon become superstar type players. Bargnani can shoot the ball well, Drive somewhat and his rebounding is getting better. Bogut's shooting isn't as great as bargnani, but he's great in the low post and to get offensive rebounds. Both of them are capable of getting at least 20 and 10 in the future. But I just think that Bargnani will develop quicker and becomes a better player overall.
I would take Bogut in this one. You can really build a team around a big man like him. He has high and low post game and his D is already pretty good. Bargnani doesn't have a position. If you build your team around a soft player you will have a soft team.
Well, it's tough to say because none of us know how much better Bargnani will get in other aspects of the game. But for now, I'll say Bogut because I trust him more. He does a little bit of everything. He's a legit 7 footer, good rebounder, good hands, soft touch, very solid ballhandling 7 footer, good passer, unselfish, decent shot blocker. Bargnani is always going to score, but it's the rest of his game that makes me wonder. He's not a very good rebounder, he doesn't play in the post much at all, he's not a very good defender. He's a great shooter for his size, like I said he'll always put up the numbers offensively. But Bogut is more of a sure thing with his overall game, so if I had to pick one of these 2 to build with right now, I'd go with Bogut.

He modified his foul count and has gotten really better at putting his hands up and closing the baseline for big men. Sure he has a lot to improve on defense, but hes not horrid, as you seem to imply. I think in terms of developement, he is the ROY in that category, but according to the NBA and most fans, that doesn't count unless there are some major results. I mean think about it, in the beginning of the year he didnt even want to go inside, know he is actually using his height, and dunking it down and always looking for a power move inside. Also for those people that say he is too used to the 3, he doesn't have a real choice, because he cant play the C when Rasho is in, and when Rasho is out, Bosh moves over at the Center position. At the PF, that is Bosh's original role, and Garbo then moves there when he is out. The only real time Bargnani gets time at the PF or C, when Rasho, Bosh, and Garbo are out. So therefore implying, that he is forced to play the 3, and gets his passes on the outside farther than Bosh gets them (at the 3 point line) Now some may be saying a 7 footer should be playing Garbo's and Rasho's positions. But he was never used to playing that even in Benneton Treviso. In fact, I dont think he used to play in the post/drive to the bucket in Italy at all. Bargnani is learning, and I can gaurantee you he will be posting up next year.As a starter, some may quickly choose Bogut, but I think in the minutes Andrea plays vs. the minutes Bogut plays, and the minutes Andrea plays, Andrea produces alot more.
