True, but even with Nurkic we aren't a contender. It wouldn't be the worst idea to keep all the picks. But now we have center locked up for the future. Can just focus on another wing scorer.
More like Yuck-kic, am I right? Trading Plumlee signals the year is indeed lost. Our one good big. I loved Plumlee. At this point in Dame's career I'm getting really sick of that word.
Who cares what Dame signs off on... unless you are LeBron players should have no say on deals... this was a great move by Neil
I'll miss Plumlee but maybe, just maybe... we can trade Crabbe and 3 first rounders for someone like Butler???
Well I think it's a sign that Neil KNEW he couldn't resign Plumlee this year. Which is a shame. Was really loving Plumlee But I think getting that first round pick shows that Denver got the better player in the trade.
Man I'm so happy. I've been dreaming about Nurkic all year. He's really going to help us. He's got an attitude too. He's not afraid to talk shit. We don't have anyone like that currently.
Yeh, I don't think Nurkic was the big goal here; I think Olshey is going for a big one with these draft picks, I hope he has his ducks lined up.
I like Plumlee. Nurkic's defensive ratings look atrocious, but I realize it could be a small sample size. Not bad getting another 1st round pick though, which I kind of think might be the bigger part of the trade. I hope I'm wrong and Nurkic ends up being solid.
Yeah, drafting 3 rookies probably isn't the best route to take - but I LOVE having three 1st round picks! Use ours, trade DEN's, use CLE's.
Mason Plumlee was a causualty of Neil's over spending. I told the "who cares how much they are paid" crowd this from the start. But I like it that we got a little something for him. The 1st in exchange for the 2nd, plus a big man still on his rookie contract for a couple more years. Just looking at Nurkic's stats, he looks like a capable rebounder and shot blocker. The most glaring issue I see is his FG% inside the paint. 58% from 0-3. That's not good for a big man at that range.
On paper this seems like a solid move, particularly considering our salary situation and Plumlee's contract status. That first round pick is very nice. Three firsts in this draft is a nice luxury, especially as it could help with other deals, now or during the draft.
Like the deal. Plumlee wouldn't have been afforrdable. Now dump Meyers and Crabbe and things will be looking up.
I think the one...silver? lining you can take out of this is that this was pretty much the peak of what you'd get out of Plumlee. Maybe Nurkic has higher potential...but guh, just like noknobs, I'm tired of hearing that word.
