Good. Melvin Ely is really not that bad, and now he has the opportunity to go somewhere where he can not only be a contender for a championship, but feel needed. He will contribute in San Antonio, he'll be in the rotation, and he'll provide some help for them down low. They need as much help at the center position as they can, and Ely is a solid bang for your buck for what they gave up. But damn, my man E is going everywhere lol. He'll be an excellent veteran presence in Charlotte, if he stays there.
Ely is a solid PF/C, and given minutes, he can get you most likely around 10 points and 6 rebounds a game. He's a banger inside, and his jump hook is nice, as well. Guys like him are really crucial to any team, and they are also underappreciated.
Kind of off guard, Ely will provide some bulk for the Spurs frontcourt but I don't think he's in any better position than he was in Charlotte. Plus, he's an expiring contract, looks like a rental for the playoffs by the Spurs.Charlotte, don't need Williams after acquiring other vets already this season like McInnis, Anderson. I suspect buyout.
Great Spurs gave up a second round draft pick to someone that is not going to play anymore in San Antonio then he did in Charlotte. He will be behind Elson and Oberto so I'm not expecting much from this guy.
Is anyone forgetting this guy is pretty much a draft bust? He's making almost $4 MIL as a third string center.
you bored or what??? old ass thread to be posting in lolI don't know, from what I've read from that draft class, it was pretty weak which is why he was drafted so high, so I can't really consider him a bust, just a lucky guy that was in a weak draft class and got to get paid to sit on a bench and act like a basketball player
