From the Nuggets' standpoint, a center rotation of Jokic & Plumlee is pretty damned solid. They have Jokic on a cheap rookie contract for two more years and plenty of salary room so they can afford to pay Plumlee next summer. Not sure if they see Plums as the starter for the rest of this season, but I think that rotation puts them in the driver's seat for the 8th playoff spot this year.
Sad to see Plums go. He was one of my favorites. He played hard every game for us and left it on the court. I wish him well with the Nuggets, and in his future with the NBA. Nurkic is a young center who can bring D and points in the paint. Guy is a beast. Best thing he is still young, and has a lot of potential. I get the feeling he'll be like a more offensively inclined version of the Vanilla Gorilla. Welcome to Ripcity Jusuf!
Only the start of a weird day? What does this mean? Another trade for the Blazers? Denver is going to trade him already?
I think there's some potential for Plumlee playing power forward next to Jokic, at least against larger opposing frontcourts. You don't want Plumlee chasing around a small-ball power forward, but against an LaMarcus Aldridge or Taj Gibson, I think he'd do fine defensively. And Plumlee should mesh well with Jokic offensively, as both are very good passers and Plumlee doesn't require a certain area to work, like Nurkic worked out of the low post. I could see Plumlee starting at power forward in some match-ups and backing up Jokic against other teams.
Nurkic huh. Portland has 3 first round picks. I'll check back before bed to see if Portland has acquired Okafor. Even though Okafor's twitter handle location has been changed from Philly, to Chicago. I can still hope.
Dame better figure out real soon that this is a business. I'm tired of him whining about every move. Trying to talk Neil out of making trades. Our team is under performing bro. It's time to recognize that changes needed to be made.
He handled it better than CJ, who looked like he was about to cry. Hey, if you want you and your boys to stick together, win, or at least put some effort in defensively. Plumlee is gone largely because he's not built to make up for Dame and CJs mistakes.
Plumlee is gone because the Blazers can't afford to go into the luxury tax to pay him next summer and because he's not the answer at center on a future contending version of the Blazers. I love Plumlee's smarts and hustle, the way he can distribute and handle the ball for a big man, and just because he's a really good dude. But he's undersized and not a gifted defender or scorer.
Wtf? Who keeps their checkbook and wallet in the car? And why did he need to go to the practice facility to cancel his cards? Does he not have a phone? Or a computer at home? barfo
There were other ways to avoid the luxury tax than trading Plumlee. He just doesn't fit with Dame and CJ, and that's the main reason he's gone. That's how I see it at least.
