As if this season hasn't provided enough to bitch about, I'd like to once again add that the Blazers have gone extremely cheap with the season ticket holder appreciation event. They used to rent out Big Al's for an evening, and that was fun for everybody as you could go off and entertain yourself. The junk they've had the last couple of years at the Moda Center (and today) is worse than the fanfest scrimmage before the season. They let everyone in for 2 hours during which there's nothing to do but have kids play a grand total of (5) games on the concourse, and then we get to watch fans and a few players do a few boring skills competitions. I'm not asking to be able to play some one-and-one with an actual player, but try harder Blazers.
I remember those Big Al's events! Food was decent, but it was free. KP was out and about and shot the breeze with me and my buddy for a few minutes by the bowling alley. I still have photos with Jerome Kersey by the billiards tables. It was also really rad seeing the Blazers enter through the crowd off of the team bus, almost had an in-arena feel to it.
When they take one thing away, they add another. The Big Al's event had to be staged on two days and required a bus to Vancouver. I agree that Big Al's was better but we cannot keep everything.
Mason Plumlee was the only one left with a Big Al's Discount Coupon, so when they traded him they had to think of something...
