<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Memphis Grizzlies President of Basketball Operations Jerry West announced today the Grizzlies have acquired forward Scott Padgett from the Houston Rockets in exchange for center Jake Tsakalidis.

Tsakalidis, 7-2, 290 pounds, averaged 2.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 11.2 minutes in 23 games with the Grizzlies this season and 3.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 12.4 minutes over 145 total games (55 starts) with Memphis. He had his best season in a Grizzlies uniform in 2005-06, averaging 5.0 points and 4.2 rebounds in 51 games. In 302 career games with Phoenix and Memphis, he has averaged 4.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 16.1 minutes. Tsakalidis was acquired by the Grizzlies from Phoenix on September 30, 2003 and re-signed Sept. 10, 2004 after the Grizzlies matched an offer sheet he signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers .

?This is a good opportunity for Jake to have more playing time,? said West. ?He is a great person and a true professional, and we wish him well in the future.?</div>
Big Jake will get some more minutes in Houston for a couple weeks, but once Yao comes back he'll be back to the end of the bench again anyway. Padgett will barely play in Memphis as well. This trade really doesn't effect either team all that much, but it might help relieve a little bit of pressure off Mutombo for these next few weeks.

No,I think were going to use Padgett, hes a very solid shooter, and with the fast pace style, we always sub all the time, and Jake was just too slow for us. Padgett will get some solid PT in Memphis. We got a great deal salary cap wise.

He's not going to play all that much. You guys barely play Brian Cardinal, and Cardinal is better than Padgett. Not to mention Mike Miller, Rudy Gay, Hakim Warrick, and Lawrence Roberts. Even Alexander Johnson down at the end of the bench. Padgett won't play all that much.

But Padgett fits the system Memphis is trying to run right now so I think this helps Memphis a bit and I think Padgett will get some time. Cardinal is not that good imo, he had a good year in GS being a really good energy guy and since I just haven't been impressed with him in the few times I've seen him, I don't watch Memphis a lot so I'm just speaking on the times I've seen him play.

I don't think anybody is that impressed with Cardinal lol, but he brings more to the table than Padgett can. Padgett is a shooter and nothing more. Cardinal is a hustler and he brings a lot of energy when he's in there. I mean I'm sure Padgett will get some situational minutes, but not that many.

Brian Cardinal is a solid defender and a okay shooter....Padgett though can hit alotve 3's, we play alotve players alot, and Padgett will probably be one of them. But we'll see, if not, we got the better of the deal anyways just of the salary benefits we're getting. Im not saying hes going to get 25+minutes a game, but he'll get quality minutes.
